Juniors move to the teenager class!

Juniors move to the teenager class!

The month of November we celebrated with Kevin Pell Sensei and Trevor Steward Sensei when they were invited to the Martial Arts Hall of Fame to receive their prestigious awards. It was a fantastic evening with all the senior grades in attendance. Soke Kevin Pell was awarded a LIFETIME achievement to martial arts (WOW!) Sensei Trevor was awarded for his dedication to martial arts. Massive congratulations to them both!

Students working hard!

During the month of November the teenager and adult students have been working on their grading techniques that they will require next month. Unfortunately Sonny Clarke will not be going for his teenager grading next month as he feels he is not ready – don’t worry we have a good six months so next summer we will get there.

Andrew Holmes will be attempting his grading next month, which is fantastic news and look forward to Andrew moving up a level if he is successful.

We also had some good news in the club when we had six students from the junior class move up to the teenager class after successfully passing their gradings this month. Great to see a more packed class!

Billie-Jo Shannon and Daryl Dixon after only just moving up to the Teenager class have asked if they may attempt their teenager grading on the 13th December. As they have both been with me and shown dedication I said that they could attempt. They will both attend as many classes between now and they’re grading, at this club, Bishops and Newmarket clubs. Good effort girls!

Joshua Ciannarella will be attempting his green belt next month and those that have completed this belt know that it’s a big game changer as we like to call it the half way belt and everything has to be spectacular… I hope that Joshua has put enough effort to his training outside of the dojo, as it will really help in advancing him forward. Training one lesson once a week will not be enough, you have to pick your training up considerable when going green and above… I would like to wish all those that are attempting a teenager or adult belt the very best of luck, if you have been training hard, it will pay off…!

Please visit our website www.ishinryu.com as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.

We also have the new calendar page where you can have a look at upcoming events so you can plan ahead. You can also leave feedback on each of the reports or comment on your son/daughters club and share them to your Facebook pages.

If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!

If you are on Facebook, please can you send me and Kevin Pell a friend request so if we need to pass on information quickly I can contact you, and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away.
