At the start of the month it was Easter half term, so teenager and adult students were either away or taking care of their children. The classes were really light but Joshua Ciannarella still turned up for training to have a great one-to-one session with myself on his yellow belt syllabus. Joshua is making great progress and will be ready for the June gradings! The following week everyone was away so an early night for family and myself.
The last couple of weeks have seen everything back to normal. It was straight into a warm-up, then breakfalls to get the body warmed up and into the swing of things before splitting into belt groups and brushing up on our techniques.
Sonny Clarke who will be attempting his teenager gradings in June worked along side Joshua Ciannarella. Although Sonny is still very young, he doesn’t find training with adults a problem especially when he is taller than average.
Andrew Holmes partnered with Linnet Bruce to go over their white belt; both are doing great and definitely moving in the right direction. Linnet now has her uniform so feels very much apart of the club.
Next month we have the closure of Wymondham Leisure centre due to refurbishments. As you are aware we will be relocating to:
Robert Kett Junior School,
Norfolk, NR18 0LS
Tuesday 26th May will be our first session at Robert Kett School, hopefully it will only be just through the summer holidays and not have too much of a knock on effect to your lives.
Next month we have Ishin Ryu’s British Championships being held in Thetford, Norfolk that will be a packed event, with challengers coming from all over the country to compete to be the champion in their weight category. Good luck to all the students entering from the Wymondham Ju Jitsu club!
Please remember, if you wish to enter, all entries must be handed in by Saturday 9th May 2015.
We have the Teenager & Adult gradings approaching in June so start checking your kit and make sure you have everything in advance, if you have any problems, come speak to me in class.
We also have Hanshi Dave Wilson’s Seminar at Honbu dojo on Saturday 9th June 2015. If you would like to attend or are unsure of anything, please contact Soke at headquarters or look at Soke’s Facebook page for more details…
I would like to wish Sempai Tom Garvin the best of luck with his Shodan grading next month on May 24th & 25th 2015, lets hope your hard work has paid off… GOOD LUCK!
