After sixteen years of teaching, I have finally purchased a van I have had it customised with our logos all over it. As an instructor it is a great way of advertising and for people to see it every day of the year. It is so much better than having a car, and it is the best way to make your organisation and clubs a success.

Each month new recruits join the club.  Jude & Joel are the most recent to join the infant class, and have plenty of energy to get rid of.  The infants did a great grading with the old traditional techniques & the modern day concept of using those techniques. Congratulations to all the infants who passed their next grade

My son achieving the highest grade in the junior class

My son achieving the highest grade in the junior class

It has been a steady month for the junior class as it always is. It has got a bit smaller as many of them have moved into the teenager class, either on a Monday or Saturday morning. They are all amazing students and never give up whatever I make them do in the grading’s.  It shows that any child can achieve whatever the challenge, especially when they know that if they stop at any time during the challenge they will fail.

Very special congratulations to my son Kieran, who passed his final belt in the junior class. Kieran has been training since the age of 3 and a half. He has developed into a very talented martial artist, like becoming 5 x British champion, preforming in my demonstration team throughout the UK and so much more.

As a parent I am so proud of everything my son has achieved. I know he has a very bright future as a martial artist. He will now start his next journey in the teenager class, which I am really going to enjoy teaching him what I teach the adults.

I can’t believe how well the third class is doing after only a few months of starting the class. It shows that it pays not to give up. The class has five adults and eleven teenagers in the class. After 16 years since I started the club it is still going strong, even though there is a lot of competition in the centre and surrounding areas.

Just to let everyone know this year’s British Championship will be on Sunday 22nd May. Due to the amount of students that will want to take part, there will be a cut-off date. There will be NO ENTRIES ALLOWED after this date. So please beware that once you receive the letter & entry form, please enter your child as soon as possible so you don’t lose out.

Awesome fun ahead at this year’s summer camp

Awesome fun ahead at this year’s summer camp

As last year’s summer camp was a sell-out, I can confirm that next year’s summer camp will be from MONDAY 8TH AUGUST TO FRIDAY 12TH AUGUST 2016.

Please visit our website www.ishinryu.com as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.

We also have the new calendar page where you can have a look at upcoming events so you can plan ahead. You can also leave feedback on each of the reports or comment on your son/daughters club and share them to your Facebook pages.

If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!

If you are on Facebook, please can you send me and Kevin Pell a friend request so if we need to pass on information quickly I can contact you, and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away.
