Great results from students at this year’s British Championship

Great results from students at this year’s British Championship

Congratulations to all the Infants who competed at this year’s Championship. You all did amazingly well.

It has been a very busy last couple of months with training for the championship and their gradings, which are in July.

On July 7Th some of my students will be part of a demonstration team at this year’s Brandon carnival. I have organised something special which I pray arrives in time for the carnival. It will be brilliant if they do. One student that has done really well is Salvador, he always turns up for the lessons and works really hard in developing his skills.

Congratulations to Shay Taylor who was awarded Student of the month. Shay is a quiet boy, but works hard and enjoys his lessons.

The Junior’s classes on a Saturday are always a pleasure to teach. The students are very keen and give it 100% throughout the lessons. If I give them a cardio session they love it and never give in whatever I get them to do. One student that has really stood out this month is Harvey Attfield Clark. His confidence and ability to demonstrate techniques has improved so much since he started. They have all been working on their techniques for the grading’s in July, and it is the only class that I know that I can sit back and relax. When they grade it is an awesome grading to watch, I love it every time they do it.

My son Kieran made history at the British Championship by being the first ever student to become British Champion for the fifth year running. As his dad I am so proud of everything that he has achieved. I will do whatever I can to give him the opportunity to succeed and to have the success that I never had as a kid.

I was so proud to be able to announce his name as the British champion, I will always treasure these very special moments in my life.

It was a good month by the Teenagers in the third class, who are working well towards their gradings in July. My daughter Jessica will be taking her last grading as a teenager and will hopefully move into the adult class.

Alex had really settled back into the class and is looking great for his next grading to yellow. Well done to the Juniors in the class who are working hard on techniques for the grading’s.

Just one final thing to let everyone know, this year’s SUMMER CAMP is from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August. There is a limited amount of spaces in both the Infant and Junior camp. The cut-off date is Saturday 7th July, due to medals and trophies that have to be ordered for the camp.

This is a great chance for your child to have lots of fun and Ju Jitsu Training for 5 hours a day over a week period. Letters and a booking form will be going out in the first week of June.

Well done to everyone for a great months training, keep up the brilliant work see you all next time.

Osu Sensei Tom, thank you for those kind words. he has made me and Tracy very proud parents. He has a talent that I hope he will carry on like you and one day gain an Ishin Ryu Black Belt.
