Senior students being put through their paces

Senior students being put through their paces

A good month by all the infants at the club throughout June. Welcome to our newest member James, who has really settled in well. After only a couple of weeks training he has all the ground hold sorted. The fitness of the infants it at a very high standard even with the new burpees that we have introduced. They love it when I set them a challenge. The infants have been working well on their grading techniques, and have developed their skills on taking their partner to the floor quickly. Well done to Jonah who has worked really hard this month.

Travis Stevens (infant)

Congratulations to Travis awarded Student of the Month. Travis is a great student always smiling and enjoying the lessons. He has really grown in confidence and is not the shy boy that first started at RAF Feltwell. They have been experiencing defence against wrist grabs, which they really like as it means they can shout as loud as they can. What I mean is when someone grabs hold of them the first thing they do is shout really load things like “get off me”, “let me go”. This is to make anyone aware that they are in trouble and are being held by someone they don’t know. Good luck to everyone that will be grading in the first week of July. I am really looking forward to grading you all, and hopefully presenting you all with you new belts.

Charlie Garrod (Junior)

Charlie Garrod (Junior)

Congratulations to Charlie, who was awarded for all his hard work in the lessons. Charlie is a very dedicated student who trains on a Monday & Saturday morning. He also does demonstrations along with other members of my Saturday classes all over the UK. He has come a long way since he first started, and his skills are at an impressive standard. I hope he will continue and one move up into the teenager class and you never know even the adult class.

For the juniors it has been a very busy month learning techniques for their grading’s, self-defence techniques and many other projects. It has now been confirmed that we will be part of the Thetford FUNDAY on Saturday 5th September. So they will have top start practising a demonstration, which for many it will be their first time in front of a crowd. Well done to Daniel Worby for all his hard work, and for being such a helpful student.

Teenagers working hard on their syllabus

Teenagers working hard on their syllabus

The teenager class has grown to a really good size. They have settled in and are working hard on their syllabus. Fingers crossed for the first time in many years I will have an impressive turn out from my dojos at the last grading for this year in December. I am hoping a couple of my teenagers will double grade, and I will get a few adults taking their first grading as well. I must admit it is great when the class is really busy, and they have a really good session. Well done to all my students for the tremendous support they give to the club every week.

Just one final thing to let everyone know, this year’s SUMMER CAMP is from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August. There is a limited amount of spaces in both the infant and junior camp. The cut-off date is Saturday 7th July, due to medals and trophies that have to be ordered for the camp.

This is a great chance for your child to have lots of fun and Ju Jitsu Training for 5 hours a day over a week period. Letters and a booking form will be going out in the first week of June.
