Half Term 2015

This half term I would like to say a big well done to Josh Alley for becoming student of the month. He has been a brilliant student to teach and is always helping in the class he always puts his hand up to show the moves in class and is a true Ishin Ryu student. Very well done Josh keep up the good work and keep smiling.

I would like to start by saying a big welcome back after the Christmas Holidays. I hope everyone is rested and ready for an action packed half term I know I am. We kick started this term off with getting everyone back in to the swing of things with the basic breakfalls and some self-defence. All the students have been having loads of fun learning some new moves and going over the basics.
We have been learning loads of different wrist locks and take downs for this term and the students are getting in to it really well. Having started off with wrist grabs with both hands and building from there, all the kids are finding this really easy and fun and simple. The take down side of things we have been going over the leg scoop and it has been working really well all the kids have been working really hard on this.
With the take downs we have then finished it off with a arm lock or a wrist lock and I have to say everyone has picked up the arm lock really well and Tom Di-Stefano has been one to watch for his arm locks as he has a fast take down and puts the locks on as soon as his partner hits the floor.

I have to say this half term has gone so quick with the students working really hard and looking forward to next term were they will be getting ready for the first grading’s of the year. Have a good half term holiday and I will see everyone back on the mat ready to get stuck in to their grading work.
