Happy Junior class with new belts

Happy Junior class with new belts

I would like to start this report off by saying a big well done to Pablo Branley for becoming the infant Student of the Half Term. Pablo has been working really hard in every lesson and hasn’t missed a lesson since he started. He is a key member in the class, everyone wants to train with him, and he is always willing to help others as well.

I would also like to say a big well done to Joseph Walberg in the junior class in becoming the junior Student of the Half Term. Joseph has been working very hard and has come a long way from when he first started. He always shows 100% commitment in every lesson and works hard – well done Joseph keep it up.

This half term we have been working on are grappling and take downs, from standing and also from kneeling. The take downs the kids have loved as they have been easy trips and sweeps, something quick to take your partner down and all of the students have been enjoying it.

The infant class have been working on hold downs and keeping each other down and moving around with their partner, and if they get out of a hold how to get them back on top or get them from under each other back on top. I have to say they have been working so hard on this and it has been working really well.

Once down, we have been learning how to move on the floor when someone is on top of you or at the side of you, breaking every bit down so that they understand why they should do it and not just because Sensei said. Some nice locks being applied from the mount, figure four arm locks and straight arm locks, and with the junior class we have also covered chokes as well as the arm locks.

With the infant class also learning how to move around on the floor we have been putting this in to games so it makes it more fun for them. This is a brilliant way to learn and also they are doing loads of exercise without them even knowing what they are doing.
I would like to say a big well done to both classes on a perfect grading both classes had worked so hard and they done a brilliant job. With the infant class going over basic hold downs and five palm heel strikes and loads of fitness I have to say they done outstanding.

The junior class done the best grading I have ever seen from this class with rounds of stand up grappling and loads of fitness the class had been pushed to the test. Their grading moves were grabs over and under the arms and I have to say this was outstanding. Everyone worked hard and no one gave up.
I would like to wish everyone a lovely summer and I look forward to seeing everyone next term. Stay out of trouble and see everyone soon.
