Proud parents with their children

I would like to start this half term off by saying a big well done to Pablo Branley for becoming the infant student of the half term. Pablo has been working really hard in every class and hasn’t missed a lesson since he started. He is a key member, everyone wants to train with him, and he is always willing to help others as well.
I would also like to say a big well done to Santiago Rodriguez in the junior class in becoming the junior student of the half term. Santiago has been working very hard and has come a long way from when he first started. Showing 100% in every lesson and working hard well done Santiago keep up the hard work.

This half term we have been working on are grappling and takedowns, from standing and also from kneeling. The takedowns the kids have loved as they have been easy trips and sweeps, something quick to take your partner down and all of the students have been enjoying it.

The infant class has been working on hold downs and keeping each other down and moving around with their partner, and if they get out of a hold how to get them back on top or get them from under each other back on top. I have to say they have been working so hard on this and it has been working really well.

Once down on the floor, we have been learning how to move around when someone is on top of you or at the side of you, breaking every bit down so that they understand why they should do it and not just because Sensei said. The kids have been putting some nice locks on from the mount, including figure four arm locks and straight arm locks. With the junior class, we have also covered chokes as well as the arm locks.

The infant class has been learning how to move around on the floor we have been putting this into games so it makes it more fun for them. This is a brilliant way to learn and also they are doing loads of exercise without them even knowing what they are doing.

I would like to say a big well done to both classes on a perfect grading both classes had worked so hard and they did a brilliant job. With the infant class going over basic hold downs and five pram heel strikes and loads of fitness I have to say they done outstanding.

The junior class did the best grading I have ever seen from this class with rounds of stand up grappling and loads of fitness the class had been pushed to the test. Their grading moves were grabs over and under the arms and I have to say this was outstanding. Everyone worked hard and no one gave up.

I would like to wish everyone a lovely summer and I look forward to seeing everyone in the new year, stay out of trouble and see everyone soon.

When we come back after the summer holidays we will be getting everyone back into the swing of things with some of the basics and loads of games and grappling.

I hope everyone has a good summer holiday and look forward to seeing everyone in the new term.
