What a wonderful day we had at the Shenley fete. First of all the weather was amazing which always make everything better. The day started off with an official opening by the mayor of Shenley. There were loads of things to do from bouncy castles to face painting. It was very tempting to go and have a go on the bouncy castle!
We started off with a few free taster sessions which went down very well with the public. We had adults and children alike coming on to the mat and having ago at Ju Jitsu. Sempai Jack started off by playing a game with the children on the mat which got them doing some front and back strangle defences. The children were loving and wanted to see more.
As the day went on the fete got busier, this was our time to shine. We started to put on a demonstration. Starting off we had Sempai Jack and Nathan Morris, the crowed was stunned as little Nathan threw Sempai Jack around like a rag doll. I must say Nathan does not hold back on his kicks and punches (I really felt them). The audience was amazed to see someone so small defend themselves against a fully grown adult.
Next up was the adult demonstration. Sempai Jack and Gideon Levi took to the stage. Every around was hook, we had some fast and furious throws along with some baton techniques and some restraint techniques. After we had finished everyone was intrigued and wanted to know more about Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu. We had some more adults come on to the mat to come and have a go which was great.
Lastly I would like to thank Shenley Fete for having us at their fete for the first time. Hopefully it will be the first of many. Also I would like to thank my demonstration team Nathan Morris and Gideon Levi who gave up their day to come and help me and make the day a huge success. Without you today wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you and well done.
