Yet again August has been a busy month for all my students. The summer camp was one of the best ever since I started them many years ago. I have already got parents enrolling their children already for 2016.
As you can see by the photo they did some amazing things during the week long course.
Next year’s summer camp will be from MONDAY 8TH AUGUST TO FRIDAY 12TH AUGUST
Unlike all of my other clubs, it has been a brilliant month again for new students joining the club. We now have a waiting list for the infant class and the junior class has doubled over the last month. Speaking to the manager, they are having thoughts that we may have to start extra classes if it carries on growing.
Due to this we have had to buy more mats to make the area much bigger, which the students really love. This also gives me a lot more area to make them work harder and give them the opportunity to experience new things. It is great to see Jayden back after having time off due to health reasons.
I had a great moment were a student did not want to wear a gi during the class. Having worked closely with him during the summer camp I was able to get him to wear a gi on the last day of training. The biggest test was to see whether he would turn up for his lesson wearing the gi. It was so great to see him walk onto the mats with a big smile on his face and wearing the gi.
The infants have been working on so many different things during the month. Like the other clubs they have been enjoying doing the rear strangles. Plus they have had a chance to have a go at doing a very simple straight arm lock. One thing they really love doing is cardio fitness, which most students hate doing. One student I would like to mention this month is Peter, for all his great work and concentration during the lessons.
The junior class has changed so much over the last month; it is great having so many more students in the class. I am able to do so much more with them that the time goes too quickly. It is always great when we do grappling as there are more girls in the class, and they really give the boys a hard time. One student I am really impressed with is Makayla Jackson, who is really changing in so many ways.
They are all brilliant students to teach and are always very respectful during the class. They have all done really well with the body drop and the rear strangles techniques. Especially the ALIEN TECHNIQUE, which they all really like. I would like to say well done to Jason who I use as my uki, which is very brave of him. It is always a great to be used by the instructor to show the rest of the class the techniques, especially when you don’t know what is going to happen. Not once has he said No, which shows how brave he is and how much his confidence is growing.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a few things that might help all my students with their training.
ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOURSELF; NEVER SAY I CAN’T DO THAT?
EVERYONE CAN ACHIEVE IN WHATEVER THEY WANT TO DO OR BECOME.
THE ONLY THING THAT STOPS YOU FROM ACHIEVING IS YOURSELF.
THE SMALLEST ACHIEVEMENT IS A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT.
THE MORE YOU TRAIN THE MORE YOU WILL SUCCEED.
PLAYING ON THE XBOX STAYING AT HOME WILL NOT HELP YOU DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS IN WHATEVER ACTIVITY YOU DO.
TEN YEARS AGO I BROKE MY NECK IN A CAR CRASH AND WAS TOLD I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO DO MARTIAL ARTS AGAIN.
DID I SAY GIVE IN; YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN MAKE YOURSELF A SUCCESS.
Well done to everyone for all their hard work last month. I would like to wish any of my students that are moving up to high school in September all the best. It will be a very exciting time for you all. As you will always hear from me and your parents, school is the best time in your life so enjoy every minute of it.
One final reminder to all my students, please can you visit our website as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the last month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or are in a photo. Plus you can comment on all the reports and share them to your Facebook pages. The website is there for everyone to keep up to date with what is happening and any future dates or events that will be happening, all these can be found on the events calendar and the grading calendar.
If you are on Facebook, please can you do a friend request to me, so if I need to tell the parents something quickly I can contact you , and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away…
