Students love this part of the presentations

Sadly due to a security threat the 4th July celebrations had to be cancelled. It was a real shame as all the students were really looking forward to showing off their skills at what would have been an amazing day.

What a brilliant month it has been for the club in recruiting new students. The infant class has got a waiting list – not bad when the club has only been opened for a year. Due to the size of the class I will have to invest in some new mats. There are so many brilliant students in the infant class like Catherine & Adalyn. They really do give it their best during the lessons. All the students are such a pleasure to teach and make the lessons so easy to teach.

Congratulations to Audrey who was awarded Student of the Month for the first time since joining the club. Audrey does sometimes find the lessons hard, but always tries her hardest to get the techniques right. I know this will give her a major boost to help with her confidence.

Their grading was awesome with plenty of Ishin Ryu spirit and determination throughout. From the minute they started with a cardio warm up into their breakfalls it was great. All of their techniques involving takedowns and different hold downs were perfect. There was also plenty of fitness tests and much much more to try and wear them out. After 45 minutes of working hard I was proud to announce that they had passed their grading’s.

It was next down to the juniors to show me what they could do. Like the infants class they gave it 100% with plenty of sweat along the way. I was really impressed with Kiera who never gives in and just keeps on fighting whatever or whoever she is against. They did endless amount of throws, locks, submissions and fitness tests. It was really enjoyable to see them work so hard to achieve a personal goal.

I was very proud of all of them for never giving in whatever I asked them to do. The following week the infants and juniors were presented with their new belts and certificates. This is always a very special moment not only for the students but also for their parents.

It is a great moment to see their smiles and how prod they are to receive their belts. It was always a dream to start a club on the biggest American airbase in the UK. Dreams can come true, if you work hard and believe that you can succeed.

Thank you to all the students that make it such a pleasure to teach you all every Thursday.
