After sixteen years of teaching, I have finally purchased a van. I have had it customised with our logos all over it. As an instructor it is a great way of advertising and for people to see it every day of the year. It is so much better than having a car, and it is the best way to make your organisation and clubs a success.
I can’t believe that it has been four years since I started the first ever club on an American base. It takes a lot of time and effect to make a club a success. And I am very proud that I have waiting lists on both classes. It is a great club with so many brilliant students.
As always the infants did a brilliant grading with traditional techniques that go back as far as the samurai days. The parents and students love the new style gi, most of the class are already in the new gi’s. Congratulations to all the infants that achieved their next belt, especially Vincent Butler who is the first ever student to reach the top grade of black/white since the club started.
It is always a packed room with all the parents very proud to see their child receive their next grade.
The juniors have worked really hard over the last few months on the combination of locks and holds. This will help them so much at the championships this year. I know all the other instructors will start to teach their students to hopefully help them to prepare for it. Yet again it was a great turn out by the parents to see their child receive their next grade. Well done to everyone for all their hard work.
Just to let everyone know this year’s British Championship will be on Sunday 22nd May. Due to the amount of students that will want to take part, there will be a cut-off date. There will be NO ENTRIES ALLOWED after this date. So please beware that once you receive the letter & entry form, please enter your child as soon as possible so you don’t lose out.
As last year’s summer camp was a sell-out, I can confirm that next year’s summer camp will be from MONDAY 8TH AUGUST TO FRIDAY 12TH AUGUST 2016.
Please visit our website www.ishinryu.com as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.
We also have the new calendar page where you can have a look at upcoming events so you can plan ahead. You can also leave feedback on each of the reports or comment on your son/daughters club and share them to your Facebook pages.
If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!
If you are on Facebook, please can you send me and Kevin Pell a friend request so if we need to pass on information quickly I can contact you, and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away.
