RAF Feltwell Ju Jitsu Club
Grading Report, 10th March 2014

It has been a year since I first started at RAF Feltwell, and it has grown amazingly well in a short space of time.

The Infant Class are a great bunch of students, who work hard and show respect both to me and their fellow students. Their grading lasted 45 minutes with throws, groundwork, fitness tests and much more. They constantly pushed themselves right to the end.  They all thoroughly deserved to move forward to their next belt.

The Junior Class are always keen to learn and love the takedown side of the syllabus. For many of them it was their third grading, so they kind of knew what was going to happen in the grading. But I always like to have a little surprise for them… Instead of the normal grading over one lesson I decided to do their grading over two lessons. I did a cardio grading one week and a technical grading the following week!  They all gave it 100% throughout the lessons on both weeks, which was a pleasure to watch. It is always good to see how far a student will go before they give up or maybe not…

The following week was the presentation evening where parents came along to see the child get presented with their new belts & certificates. This is always a very special moment for all their parents to see their children being presented with their new belt & certificate in  the traditional way. Seeing a child bow to their instructor, shake hands and thank them for the award is a wonderful sight to see. It was nice to see some of the dads dressed in their official uniforms. The highlight of the evening for all the students was to throw their old belts up in the air for the group photo.
