I would also like to say a big well done April’s student of the month for the infant class Jack Gergel. Jack has been working so hard and tries his hardest every lesson. He is one of the smallest students in the class but that doesn’t stop him from taking the bigger kids. Well done Jack keep up the good work.
I would also like to say a big well done to the junior student of the month Luke Lehmann he has moved up from the infant class to the junior class and has been working very hard the past month and he doesn’t mind getting stuck in to grappling with the high grades well done Luke keep up the good work.
The infant class have been working on their basic moves from ground holds fight stances and some throws as well. Keeping all the work mixed in to games and fitness the students don’t even know that they are learning so much from running around. We started off with games of stuck in the mud with pinning your partner down, all the students enjoyed doing this it was a good game and got the heart pumping. I am very lucky with the students I have they all work very well together, and bond as a class no one is left out.
Some of the basic holds we are showing the students are the chest hold side control and full mount; all the students tend to get in to one of them three moves so we have shown them how to get out of it and how to get in to the holds. The junior class have been working really hard with loads of stand up grading and learning different holds and strangles getting them self’s ready for the championships in May. Everyone has been working really hard and I must say that I can’t wait for this year’s championships to see how many medals we come back with.
Also this month the kids have been learning some new throws with a shoulder throw and a dropping throw being the main moves to use for ground work.
With the teenager class we have been getting straight in to syllabus getting them working towards their next grading. With loads of the juniors moved up to the teenager class we have been going over a lot of basic moves which most of them know but it is at a higher level now all the students are working really well on this and are enjoying it a lot.
Please remember to bring in your progress cards to your lesson each week if you have lost your card it will be £1.00 for a new one. If you forget to bring it to lesson you cannot get stamps back dated.
Please remember that the children’s championships will be held on Sunday 22nd May and the cut of date is Saturday 14th May so we can get everyone entered ready for the start on Sunday.
