I would also like to say a big well done to August’s student of the month for the infant class Ruben Bates. Ruben has been working so hard and tries his hardest every lesson – he is one of the smallest students in the class but that doesn’t stop him from taking on the bigger kids in the class. Well done Ruben keep up the good work.
I would also like to say a big well done to the junior student of the month Thomas Cheek – he has moved up from the infant to the junior class and has been working very hard the past month. He doesn’t mind getting stuck into grappling with the high grades well done Thomas keep up the good work.
With the summer holidays in full swing and loads of people going away on holiday the students that have turned up for training have been having loads of fun learning loads of good ground holds and escapes and some self-defence. The classes have been buzzing with all the students working very hard and learning something new every lesson.
The infant class have been working on their basic moves from ground holds fight stances and some throws as well. Keeping all the work mixed into games and fitness the students don’t even know that they are learning so much from running around. We started off with games of stuck in the mud with pinning your partner down, all the students enjoyed doing this it was a good game and got the heart pumping. I am very lucky with the students I have they all work very well together, and bond as a class no one is left out.
Some of the basic holds we are showing the students are the chest hold side control and full mount; all the students tend to get into one of them three moves so we have shown them how to get out of it and how to get into the holds.
The junior class has been very quiet with loads of students going away on holiday this has been the best time for the students to go over some old basic moves, with a lot of the kids forgetting some of this it is a good way to keep the mind working. We have been going over the basic body drop and working on making it faster and better. All the students have been working really hard and I am so proud of all their hard work.
With the teenager class, we have been getting straight into syllabus getting them working towards their next grading. With loads of the juniors moved up to the teenager class we have been going over a lot of basic moves which most of them know but it is at a higher level now all the students are working really well on this and are enjoying it a lot.
Please remember to bring in your progress cards to your lesson each week if you have lost your card it will be £1.00 for a new one. If you forget to bring it to the lesson you cannot get stamps backdated.
Next month the class is going to be working on more stand up grappling with throws and hold downs once they have taken the to the floor.
