I would like to start the month off by saying a big well done to September’s student of the month Reece Walker. Reece tries his hardest every lesson. Well done Reece keep up the good work. I would also like to say a big well done to Alex Cooke he has been working very hard the past month and he doesn’t mind getting stuck in to grappling with the high grades – well done Alex keep up the good work.
The infant class have been working on their basic moves from ground holds fight stances and some throws as well. Keeping all the work mixed in to games and fitness the students don’t even know that they are learning so much from running around. We started off with games of stuck in the mud with pinning your partner down, all the students enjoyed doing this it was a good game and got the heart pumping. I am very lucky with the students I have – they all work very well together, and bond as a class so that no one is left out.
Some of the basic holds we are showing the students are the chest hold side control and full mount; all the students tend to get in to one of them three moves so we have shown them how to get out of it and how to get in to the holds.
Also in the infant class we have been working together in team exercise’s helping work all together and learning how to work with each other. Ishin Ryu is more than just Ju Jitsu it is a way of living. I feel the class have come together more and found a good bond with each other and no one is left out or feels like they are not a part of the class.
The junior class have also been going over some new and old moves from the ground and standing from arm bars and chocks from the floor, to shoulder locks and wrist locks from a grab or an attack. The students have really enjoyed this. Two students that have put 100% in to their training and put the locks and chokes in to practice when grappling are Tommy Niblett and Joseph Hutson the two boys are not scared to get stuck in and train hard. The juniors have started off the month working hard on ground work and they love every lesson on this and they can’t wait for the next one. Keep up the good work boys and girls.
Also this month the teenagers have been knuckling down on their syllabus work, with most of the students at white belt going to yellow they have been getting stuck in to hand shake defences and having loads of fun with some new throws.
I know that after the holidays everyone has enjoyed the time off but have missed the training and it is great to see everyone back on the mat putting in 100%. Well done everyone keep up the good work.
