I would like to start this report by saying big congratulations to Belina Jhugroo in the junior class and Charlie Cooper in the infant class on becoming this month’s student of the month.
Belina has come on so much with her training and she is a brilliant student to have in the class, always asking questions and getting on with her work. Charlie Cooper has been turning up to every lesson and always has a smile on his face when he is training has a smile on his face I never see him without a smile and he is a model student helping everyone and always putting overs before him. Two fantastic students that I am glad to have as this month’s student of the month, keep up the good work guys…
This month the infant class and junior class have been getting ready for the last grading of the year. With all the students looking forward to the grading I know that everyone is a little nervous as well.
Both classes are doing some of the same moves with the junior class adding some different attacks and locks to the finish. The infant class have been enjoying this as it is quick, fast, and simple to do. Using their left and rights to do the moves it is showing in the work that the class are understanding their left and right hands.
With the wrist locks going down well with the infant class the junior class have also been having fun putting the wrist locks into action from a self-defence side and also into grappling which all the students loved doing I know Riley Olson has been tapping people out with his figure four arm locks.
The higher grades in the junior class have also been learning some new throws using their front rolling breakfalls in the throw. The throws that we have been doing recently are, volley drop and a rice bale throw, the throws look amazing when you pull them off and the kids have been having so much fun with them I have to say it does look really good.
With the infant and junior classes having fun learning wrist locks and some new throws to use in grappling, the teenager class have been working hard on their throws and learning more on their colour belts for their next grading in December. This has been a hard couple of weeks for the teenagers as they have been training so hard on their throws and even I am getting stuck in being thrown and throwing them it is fun and the students love throwing the instructor around but what comes up must come back down and loads of amazing breakfalls came into play.
It has been fun for Cameron Addy and Tommy Niblett as they have been working with me on the yellow belt and learning chokes. He has been seeing if he can get my eyes to pop out of my skull which is always fun.
Just a quick reminder to all the mums and dads that next month is the first grading’s of the year make sure that all the admin is in before the grading. The gradings will be held in lesson time as always and with be at the beginning of November.
