I would like to congratulate Harrison Boggett in the Infant class, who has become Student Of The Month for March. He has worked so hard over the past month and has shown true Ishin Ryu spirit. He is always helping others in the class – a very big well-done Harrison, keep up the hard work.
In the Junior class, I would like to say a big well done to Joseph Hutson. I am really proud to have Joseph as Student Of The Month for March as he has works really hard and never gives up. He is always in class no matter what; nothing can stop him from training. Keep up the good work Joseph.
What an amazing month we have had. I would like to start off by saying a big hello to our new students – it’s good to see some new faces in the Dojo and I’m glad you are all enjoying your training. This has been a mad month with everyone getting ready for their gradings. All I can say is well done to everyone who passed – you all did very well and it is so nice to see loads of shiny new belts on the mat.
The Infant students have been working really hard this month, in preparation for gradings. It has been good to see everyone working their socks off. All of the students have been going over their basic ground holds and throws to get them used to some stand up grappling, as that will be playing a big part of the grading. Learning basic throws, such as the body drop, has become easy for the kids to use when grappling.
The Junior class have been learning throws and hold downs, as well as some self–defence moves. You can throw someone from more than one way which we have been going over in the Dojo. Learning how to throw someone when they are holding, punching you or even kicking you was a big eye opener for the class and they have been really enjoying the cool throws and take downs.
I would also like also like to say a big well done to Tommy Nibblet who was awarded with a very special award for commitment to training from 2008 – 2015 Tommy has made his way up from the Infant class to the Junior class and soon to be in the Teenager class. Well done Tommy I look forward to giving you the next award in six more years.
In the Teenager class we have been going over grappling and stand up grappling, getting everyone use to throwing. This has been a great fun and everyone has been working really hard on this. Also in the class we have also been working on their syllabus building up their knowledge on their next belt for the teens first grading’s of the year in June which will be coming around fast. The white red belts have been going over their breaking back strangles and learning the Body Drop as well, which is a lovely throw to do.
Keep up the good work everyone, have a good Easter and I look forward to seeing you all next month.
