Moriah Jewish Day School Ju Jitsu Club
Monthly Report, November 2014

I would like to begin by welcoming you all to the newest club within the Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu. The club is based in a small school with only one class in each year. The club has a small but very enthusiastic membership.

We have been doing a lot of personal fitness to start the lessons off and this has been being paying off and the standard of fitness and the techniques have improved dramatically.
Every ones break falls have come along nicely and those that were unable to do front rolling break falls have worked incredibly hard and are now able to do so. We have been concentrating this term on kick to the head and Body drop. As well as revising all the techniques previously learnt, ground work, defence against strangles (front and rear). Obviously you cannot finish a lesson without and few rounds of back to back which as in every club is very popular.

A special mention has to go to SHANI SIDNIK who when she first started with us would not even speak and used her sister to speak through, now it’s difficult to stop her talking and she listens very intently and is very quick to pick up the techniques and is always willing to demonstrate to the other students.

I would also like to mention one of our new recruits this term ZACHARY JACOBS who has hit the ground running and is a very keen hardworking student. Five Students Graded on the 1st December. These were: Eli Freeman, Joey Soloman, Taavi collier and Zachary Jacobs all doing there first grading to white/red belt. Marc Segal who graded to white/purple belt. All done very well, worked very hard and well deserve their new Belts. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL.

To finish I would like to say thank you to all the students as they have worked hard this term and I would like to wish you all a happy holiday and see you next term.
