I would like to start this report off by saying a big well done to all the Mill Hill students on passing their grading this term. They have worked very hard this term and throughout the year.
I would like to start by saying a big well done to Lior Arram for becoming this terms student of the month. He has been a keen learner and always try’s his best. Well done Lior – keep up the good work.
The class have been working hard, learning some new throws and hold downs and also learning some fun arm and shoulder locks. Everything we learned at the beginning of the term ties in to the end of year grading with the students showing how to put an arm lock on and also defend them self’s from a bully whether it is them kicking punching or grabbing. The students have been having loads of fun with this, with one in the pair being the bully and the over being bullied.
On the ground work side of the training, we have been going over some arm locks and holds from the side of the body which is making grappling for the kids harder because they all want each other’s arms which is funny to watch. The one the students are getting a lot is the straight arm bar – watch out for the championships next year as I can see some gold medals indeed.
With throws and ground work being the main aim of this terms work we have also been training the body with different and fun exercises, making the press ups harder and trying new ways to get the heart pumping, with fast games and loads of jogging on the spot. I have to say that the kids are not running out of energy but I know I am. Their fitness levels are improving each week and it shows as well in school having the whole class in the A and B team in Ruby.
This term has gone so quick. I know that all the students have worked hard and the parents and I are so proud of the hard work they have put in to their grading and very happy children at the presentations with their new belts well done everyone and see you next term and next year.
