Hold downs!

Firstly I would just like to say congratulations to our Student of the Month, Eshan Dave. Well done you have earned this award.

Well done to Eshan Dave as our Student of the Month for May 2015

Well done to Eshan Dave as our Student of the Month for May 2015

The infant class at Manor Lodge have spent the last month in training for the national championships. You have all done really well and both me and Sempai Lou are really proud of you all. I am already looking forward to seeing you all compete. It has been incredible watching you all train and I’m sure you will all be awesome.

The infants have been enjoying their lessons this month, with a mixture of techniques, games and fitness. We have been learning shoulder arm locks for the infants next grading. Oliver Ferguson has been training hard and is executing these techniques perfectly. The class has ended each week with lots of grappling. All the infants have been doing really well but I would like to say a massive congratulations to Daniel who has shown great Ishin Ryu Spirit over this last month. I would like also like to say well done to Sona Patel who has demonstrated some excellent Press Up’s. Well done and keep up the good work.

The junior classes also training well towards the national championships. We are hoping for loads of medals for the Manor Lodge Dojo and it will be great to see so many happy faces at the national championships. Every student that attends should be very proud of themselves – it’s a great achievement just to turn up and represent you dojo.

I would like to say well done to everyone who took park in the National Championships, so well done to:

Joseph Mcleoud -Gold Medal
Kameron Lall – Gold Medal
Adam Savadies – Gold Medal
Freddie Kamasa –Bronze Medal
Jamie Mcleoud – Silver Medal

You were all fantastic to watch. Well done to you all and well done to everyone who didn’t win a medal. It takes a lot of guts to even take part.

Following a tough warm up the children have been practising wrist locks. These are defences against attacks such as grabs of the lapel and punches. The students have all worked very hard to make sure these techniques are learnt perfectly as it is very likely they will appear in the next grading. I think the next grading is going to be a good one.

Next month we are going to be concentrating on shoulder arm locks in preparation for the up and coming gradings. Next thing we know they will be here.
