Lockers Park Ju Jitsu Club
February 2015

It’s great to be back at lockers Park after the Christmas break. I hope everyone enjoyed the time off!! Well this half term has been a busy one we have been getting ready for the up and coming grappling competition, and also preparing for the next grading. The class have been working on the dropping reverse body and various chokes and locks. It has been great to see the class taking these techniques on bored so quickly. It has been great to see you all trying so hard in class. I would like to say well done to Thomas Kemp for being awarded student of the month; he has worked extremely hard this month. Keep up the good work.

It has been an amazing half term. Every lesson we have been doing our normal warm up’s followed by breakfalls. The class has become pretty skilled in executing the front rolling breakfalls and also picking up a beanbag. This is brilliant for confidence and hand eye coronation. Keep up the good work boys.

The class have been learning the reclining leg throw as a quick take down for stand up grappling. We have also been learning some fantastic new guard escapes. Charlie Garment has really enjoyed learning this over this half term. Lastly we have also been learning various chokes. These chokes are quick ways to tap you partner out during grappling. The class has been especially keen to learn these and more techniques to add to their collection. Well done everyone and keep up the good work. I am sure next half term you will all be fine with your gradings.
