Combat Magazine December 2000
Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu has been featured in on a full page article within the December issue of the British “Combat” magazine, one of the world’s top martial arts magazine.

 

Christmas Gradings
The Christmas gradings will be held next weekend with students from the UK Caston, Borehamwood, Bushey and Holmes Place dojos all looking to progress on to the next belt. We wish the best of luck to Andy T, Carl C, Mark and David from the Borehamwood dojo on their brown belt grading.

 

Portugal Seminar,1st-4th Dec. 2000
The annual Portuguese seminar was held in Lisbon last weekend. With a fantastic turnout and quality teaching, it was the perfect weekend away from the stresses of every day life. Please check back for a full report soon direct from Joao Santos, director of Ishin Ryu Portugal.

 

Children’s Gradings
Two weeks ago, Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu held it’s Hertfordshire children’s gradings with more than 600 children attempting to step up the ladder. Update: All children passed, congratulations for all the hard work to the kids and to their parents.

 

November 11, 2000
Trevor Steward passed his Black Belt grading after a gruelling 2 day exam, fitness test and grading. A film crew filmed the event for future broadcasting on television.

 

Summer 2000
Ishin Ryu Ju-Jitsu’s Borehamwood club hosted the Summer 2000 Federation day with over 200 students and spectators in attendance. The day was a great success with many different masters showing their personal skills. Arts represented included Ju-Jitsu, Aikido, Iaido and Judo. There was a demonstration of Iaido by Fay Goodman (right), one of the highest graded swordswomen in the world. Fay is also the author of “The Ultimate Book of Martial Arts”. It was an honour to have in attendance the lady Mayor of Hertsmere and The Borehamwood Times. The day was given the ultimate finale by the presentation of the teaching title of “Kyoshi” to Kevin Pell Sensei
