On Sunday 28th February 2016 Caston Ju Jitsu Club (Honbu Dojo) was once again full of enthusiastic students – this time, in tracksuits and hoodies, for a day of learning emergency First Aid.
In addition to the long list of requirements that are needed to be an instructor within Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu, we also ensure that all students above the grade of Brown Belt (2nd Kyu) are fully qualified First Aiders.
Although a skill we hope no to use often it is a necessary skill none the less. Everyone has to be trained, right up to and including the boss! See below for photographic evidence!
The course was offered to any interested parties and we were pleased to see a number of parents and teenagers improving their life skills – First Aid is not just for adults.
Below is Robbie (Honbu Teenage Class) using a portable Defibrillator, The Defib machines are now available in many High Street areas and have proven to save lives. Robbie volunteered to have a go with it having never even seeing one before – well done Robbie
With the course limited to 24 students (we will probably have to run another one soon!) the places were soon booked and it was great to see some old and new faces getting together for such essential learning.
Well done to everyone who attended (including Jess Bacon – Coach and nutritional advisor from Saxon Crossfit – returning to check your clean eating skills were maintained!!) and thanks to Dave Howell of VTS Training for a great educational day.
See you all on the next course
