This was Ishin Ryu Jiu Jitsu’s 3rd venture to the Wayland Show, and as usual we were lucky with the weather. Although the day started a bit overcast there were definitely a few of us who went home a bit sunburned!
The day began early doors with arrival on the outskirts of Watton ready to erect gazeebo’s, put down matts and fly the flag for Ishin Ryu Jiu Jitsu.
After bacon butties and a few coffee runs we were ready to start and although our first demonstration in the main arena wasn’t until mid-morning, we commenced the day with a fab children’s class run by Sempai Jack O’Brien.
This was followed by a dash to the central show area to put down some more matts and prep the compere for our grand Ishin Ryu Jiu Jitsu introduction.
The first demonstration was a dazzling success, with a display from Sensei Trevor Steward’s childrens team followed by a full on adult demonstration from novice belts up to Black Belt grades, culminating in a Ki (striking) demonstration by sensei’s Andy and Del.
The day continued with a further four demonstrations, and in between there were classes run by Sempai Jack O’Brien and Sempai Richard King.
The day was rounded off a treat by the private BBQ provided by Scott from The Waggon and Horses- as usual, top notch food – thank you. We are already looking forward to next year.
