Nice picture boys, it looks like you’re really enjoying yourself!

September was a good month for the everyone at Hopton Ju Jitsu club as we had four new students have trial lessons from school. James and William Evans had placed their names down on the waiting list to join the class before we finished for the summer holidays; as soon as we returned back to school they were there waiting to start.

We have also had Benedict and Max Measures put their skills to Ju Jitsu. All four children have made a great start in their martial art study.

I would like to welcome Poppy Baker along to the class, Poppy continues to do well and makes each lesson as good as the next – keep up the good work Poppy your doing really well…!

During September we’ve been working on a few ground hold techniques, defences from the kick, hip throw and defences from leg scissors. We have had lots of fun working with these techniques with plenty of imagination coming from the children. We have had much amusement with sumo wrestling each other out of the ring; Ryan Harrington and Alicia Lucraft are super enthusiastic and love to compete against each other.

Massive congratulations to Kevin Pell Sensei who was presented with the Grand Master of the year 2015, having been nominated by Sensei Zvonko Tubic Tuba and presented by Ernesto Hoost, four times K1 world champion. Kevin Pell Sensei and Sam gladly Sempai travelled to split (Croatia) to receive this prestigious award and was kindly looked after by all the Croatian team.

As we have the children’s, gradings approaching we will be concentrating all our efforts to get ready for this.

Please visit our website www.ishinryu.com as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.

We also have the new calendar page where you can have a look at upcoming events so you can plan ahead. You can also leave feedback on each of the reports or comment on your son/daughters club and share them to your Facebook pages.

If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!

If you are on Facebook, please can you send me and Kevin Pell a friend request so if we need to pass on information quickly I can contact you, and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away…
