As we had half-term in February, I decided to keep Student of the Month the same for March, which was originally given to Megan Clements.
The gradings for Hopton Dojo were scheduled for the end of the month so we had plenty of time during March to finalise any techniques that were not quite at grading standard.
The last main technique that we wanted to work on was the Reclining Leg Throw – affectionately known by the students as “Love the Leg!” It wasn’t long before everyone was up to speed on this technique.
Throughout the month we also practiced using blindfolds, which was loved by all… Starting from a kneeling position facing each other, I ensured that they held on to each other before we started just to ensure they didn’t bang their heads.
There was plenty of laughter from everyone and of course the odd little bit of cheating!! It was very comical to watch but thoroughly enjoyed by all!
I mixed the month’s training up with plenty of fitness, revision on keywords used within the dojo and some Randori (free practice).
It was a great month, drawing to its conclusion with everyone getting ready for their Easter break. Find out what happened in the gradings and how everyone performed in the Hopton Dojo grading report…
Keep up the great work guys!! I look forward to seeing you for our fun lessons and presentations!
