At the end of last month we finished off with High Elms Manor students completing their gradings. It was a fantastic effort by all. Unfortunately Finn Craigen who was scheduled to grade at the end of last month could not due to being unwell. Fortunately Finn was well enough to take his grading at the beginning of July.
With all the students participating and helping push Finn through his grading, we started him off with a little warm up, followed shortly by his fitness test. With Finn completing them with good form, it was time for his grading techniques, with lots of repetition and multiple student changes Finn was performing great.
Quick sip of water then I decided to tire Finn out with Grappling, both kneeling and standing.
Finn worked really hard and I was very pleased to inform him that he successfully passed.
With a big round of applause, we started their games. During their games they wanted to do some forward rolls over an obstacle. We chose to place kick shields onto the floor as soft enough if landed on. As each student completed a forward roll over the obstacle, we raised the height each time. With some of the students completing four kick shields high, “fantastic effort”
Just before we started grading presentations we had all parents come into the room so students could demonstrate what they have been learning. With lots of smiles and cheers, they were very pleased to see how there young ones have progressed.
We concluded with grading presentations, each student would walk out to the front and receive their new belt and certificate. Group photo and then finish off with wishing everyone a fantastic summer break.
I look forward to seeing you all when we return…
