Thank you both Sensei Tom for Tuesday and Sensei Del for Thursday. Osu!!
Good luck to all my friends undertaking the Ishin Ryu adult gradings tomorrow.
Hope you are well.

Happy anniversary!!! Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight. Osu
I want to say a huge thank you for the self confidence and ability that you have given my son, 9, through your Ju-Jitsu club at his school (St Columba's college in St Albans).
Today he told me on the way home from school that the resident school thug had tried to punch him in class. "Oh no - what happened?" I asked. "I blocked it and put him on the floor - I didn't even realise I was doing it...".
Now that's made me VERY happy. Sensei Tom is doing a GREAT job.
Thank you Soke and Sensei Del (my uke this evening) for a fabulous training session once again learned loads and added that little bit more polish to my techniques. Roll on next week Osu!!!
When I joined the Dereham dojo back in March I was a guy plagued with personal issues. Now I feel myself growing in confidence thanks to what I have learned plus the support and friendships of fellow students and Sensei Trevor. I now go to Thetford dojo as well and I am looking forward to the future for the first time in my life with my head held high, thank you.
I started ju-jitsu about a month ago now and love the sport and my teacher as well best choice I have ever made! Thank you Soke and Sensei Del Shannon! Osu
I recently got my GCSE results and I got a fantastic result of A* in my PE shortcourse! I used ju-jitsu as one of my two sports so I would like to thank you!

I would like to congratulate you and Ishin Ryu for being nominated to the Atrium International Hall of Fame of Martial Arts.
I also would like to wish you and Sempai Sam all the best and a safe flight out to Croatia.
Osu Soke, Thank you for making it down to the classes at Aldenham recently, you have given us a massive boost! I'm very impressed with the new Kempo blocks that are being introduced, I look forward to seeing more techniques in the lessons to come.
Great training tonight. Thank you Soke.
Looking forward to next weeks sessions
Looking forward to training at the Borehamwood Dojo with Sensei Tom... Osu!
Amazing session tonight at Borehamwood Dojo. Still buzzing. Sensei Tom a loud resounding Osu and thank you. Matt
Learnt new ways to defend from blocks using elbow as a defence on July 23. Looking forward to more of this
Excellent to see you Soke, Sensei's and my Ishin Ryu brothers last night at Aldenham. Soke, your words were on the mark and as usual, your passion shone through for what needs to happen. The switch has been flicked on! See you soon. John
Great technical session last night and looking forward to next week. Thanks Soke
Great to see the website looking good and lots of regular reports being added on a monthly basis...
Looking forward to seeing everyone down at Aldenham tonight!!
Thank you for a great training session at Aldenham last week. I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow night.
The website is looking fantastic! It is so nice to see the addition of the monthly reports going up for each club and watching the progress of the students! It will also be nice for them to one day look back at the reports as they get older to remind themselves of how far they have come and what they have achieved.
I have been down to watch a few of the adult classes recently and have been massively impressed by their focus and determination to do well......true Ishin Ryu Spirit!!
Keep up the good work guys and gals 🙂
Great to see the website is going from strength to strength...
Osu Soke, I have just got home from a meeting at my son Daniels new school in preparation for him starting in September. We had the meeting to discuss management of Daniels Cystic fibrosis and some issues regarding behaviour and willingness to do as he is asked. His key worker and manager from his pre school were there and commented that since Daniel has started Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu. They noticed around the same time that his behaviour began to improved immensely. They said that when a situation arises where previously he "pop" so to speak he has a growl and walks away. He is listening more and doing things as and when he is asked, like join the other children for carpet time and register.
Special Thanks To Sensai Sheila who teaches Daniel at Honbu, Sensai Tom who has taught him and Keith who helps with the Infant class and works closely with Daniel.
Withrespect and greatfull thanks from myself, my wife and the staff of great Ellingham pre school.
Soke & Teresa,
I would just like to thank you both for your kind hospitality for us during the weekend. As ever, we enjoyed our visit to Honbu and your company.
Sunday was a great day. Although up and down with my hip giving me grief (a 24 hour occurrence), my attention was well and truly glued to the action on the mats. The infants were outstanding in the morning and then the juniors matched them in the afternoon. There were some real promising fighters and martial artists on show and all can be justly proud of their efforts, medal or no medal. The seniors too lived up to expectation and I thought we saw once again that true Ishin Ryu spirit shine through.
I was obviously really proud of my three junior students especially the two gaining Bronze. The saying must be true; two out of three isn’t bad. All three showed the same spirit I would expect and were excellent ambassadors for our Dojo. I think Eddie too gave a good account of himself and I think Sensei Del was a little surprised, as Eddie is no longer the child he was when first introduced to Ishin Ryu. He enjoyed his time on the mat and the tussle with Del and was already talking of Shochu Geiko.
On behalf of both of our current Military Dojo’s, thank you for looking after us and our students. The day was organised and went extremely well. I was honoured to have been able to assist in a small way with the other Sensei etc. Hopefully we will be able to encourage more to do the distance and take part in next year’s event. Please pass on my thanks to Sensei Trevor and his family, along with all your Yudansha and Sempai who always make us welcome and those involved in organising the event.
As always, Honour and Respect.
I am just writing to say how much i am enjoying my training. It has been so much fun training at Bushey, Borehamwood, Honbu and Aldenham. I have to say that training for my black belt has been hard but also fun at the same time, I have amazing friends in the club brothers and sisters it feels like and everyone has been so helpful and Ishin Ryu is more than just a martial arts club it is a family and i am glad to be apart of it. 😀
I just wanted to thank you for our wonderful weekend in Dusseldorf, it was a fun weekend, much enjoyed by all I think (I can safely say I did).
In particular, it was just the shot in the arm after the month I just had, so came at a perfect time.
Lastly, and once again, we take our club for granted. On the tatami two things became very clear, your engagement with the students from the other clubs was so different from the other instructors, they were hanging off your words, eager to hear/learn more. I think you were in your element!
Also the techniques, for instance when Sensei Del and Sensei Andy did the 5 minute training and did the throat grab and take down, there were audible gasps from the students, we see and train this way all the time, but to them it was like something from another planet!
With Honour & Respect

Osu Soke and Yudansha, have been enjoying reading the updates on the website and Facebook page, as well as watching some of the awesome videos there (nothing to do with being in some, I assure you! :-)) The new site is sharper and easier to follow. Keep up the great work!
the web site is going from strength to strength.
its a great boost for all the student's who train in ishin ryu ju jitsu
My children joined the Dojo at RAF Feltwell 2 years ago. But, now it is time for us to return home. Before we go I want to thank Sensei Trevor for everything that he has done for my children. He has helped them learn many things most importantly confidence, self control, and respect for themselves. Thank you for everything you, your Dojo's, and the Ihin Ryu family did for us. It is memories that I will remember forever.
While visiting the Caston Dojo a few weeks ago to watch my friends children, I was very impressed on the overall presentation of it. The children were very hard working and a total credit to the Sensei in charge.
I look forward to seeing your World Champs in May.
Well done to everybody involved
My thanks to everyone, I really enjoyed my first ever ju jitsu training session. I ache but in a good way and felt welcome and encouraged.

Finally got around to it:-
Just wanted to say what a wonderful evening it was on Saturday. Such a great atmosphere. It was good to see so many old faces coming together and celebrating such a significant event.
Congratulations on an amazing achievement, you deserve all the accolades.
I am proud and honoured to be part of such a great organisation (and like I said, without Ishin Ryu there would be no Mr & Mrs!!)
Very Nice Site.
Do keep up the great work you are doing in the Martial Arts Community!
Great site and good to see a strong association representing traditional jujitsu in the UK. Keep up the good work Kevin!
