I want to say a huge thank you for the self confidence and ability that you have given my son, 9, through your Ju-Jitsu club at his school (St Columba's college in St Albans).

Today he told me on the way home from school that the resident school thug had tried to punch him in class. "Oh no - what happened?" I asked. "I blocked it and put him on the floor - I didn't even realise I was doing it...".

Now that's made me VERY happy. Sensei Tom is doing a GREAT job.

Now I feel myself growing in confidence thanks to what I have learned plus the support and friendships of fellow students and Sensei Trevor. I now go to Thetford dojo as well and I am looking forward to the future for the first time in my life with my head held high, thank you.

The website is looking fantastic! It is so nice to see the addition of the monthly reports going up for each club and watching the progress of the students! It will also be nice for them to one day look back at the reports as they get older to remind themselves of how far they have come and what they have achieved.
I have been down to watch a few of the adult classes recently and have been massively impressed by their focus and determination to do well......true Ishin Ryu Spirit!!
Keep up the good work guys and gals 🙂

Osu Soke, I have just got home from a meeting at my son Daniels new school in preparation for him starting in September. We had the meeting to discuss management of Daniels Cystic fibrosis and some issues regarding behaviour and willingness to do as he is asked. His key worker and manager from his pre school were there and commented that since Daniel has started Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu. They noticed around the same time that his behaviour began to improved immensely. They said that when a situation arises where previously he "pop" so to speak he has a growl and walks away. He is listening more and doing things as and when he is asked, like join the other children for carpet time and register.
Special Thanks To Sensai Sheila who teaches Daniel at Honbu, Sensai Tom who has taught him and Keith who helps with the Infant class and works closely with Daniel.
Withrespect and greatfull thanks from myself, my wife and the staff of great Ellingham pre school.

Soke & Teresa,

I would just like to thank you both for your kind hospitality for us during the weekend. As ever, we enjoyed our visit to Honbu and your company.

Sunday was a great day. Although up and down with my hip giving me grief (a 24 hour occurrence), my attention was well and truly glued to the action on the mats. The infants were outstanding in the morning and then the juniors matched them in the afternoon. There were some real promising fighters and martial artists on show and all can be justly proud of their efforts, medal or no medal. The seniors too lived up to expectation and I thought we saw once again that true Ishin Ryu spirit shine through.

I was obviously really proud of my three junior students especially the two gaining Bronze. The saying must be true; two out of three isn’t bad. All three showed the same spirit I would expect and were excellent ambassadors for our Dojo. I think Eddie too gave a good account of himself and I think Sensei Del was a little surprised, as Eddie is no longer the child he was when first introduced to Ishin Ryu. He enjoyed his time on the mat and the tussle with Del and was already talking of Shochu Geiko.

On behalf of both of our current Military Dojo’s, thank you for looking after us and our students. The day was organised and went extremely well. I was honoured to have been able to assist in a small way with the other Sensei etc. Hopefully we will be able to encourage more to do the distance and take part in next year’s event. Please pass on my thanks to Sensei Trevor and his family, along with all your Yudansha and Sempai who always make us welcome and those involved in organising the event.

As always, Honour and Respect.

I am just writing to say how much i am enjoying my training. It has been so much fun training at Bushey, Borehamwood, Honbu and Aldenham. I have to say that training for my black belt has been hard but also fun at the same time, I have amazing friends in the club brothers and sisters it feels like and everyone has been so helpful and Ishin Ryu is more than just a martial arts club it is a family and i am glad to be apart of it. 😀

Osu Soke!
I just wanted to thank you for our wonderful weekend in Dusseldorf, it was a fun weekend, much enjoyed by all I think (I can safely say I did).
In particular, it was just the shot in the arm after the month I just had, so came at a perfect time.
Lastly, and once again, we take our club for granted. On the tatami two things became very clear, your engagement with the students from the other clubs was so different from the other instructors, they were hanging off your words, eager to hear/learn more. I think you were in your element!
Also the techniques, for instance when Sensei Del and Sensei Andy did the 5 minute training and did the throat grab and take down, there were audible gasps from the students, we see and train this way all the time, but to them it was like something from another planet!

Respect from a spanish Nihon Tai Jitsu practitioner.
I have always thought Ishin Ryu is a powerful, simple and attractive system.
Some of my teachers had the opportunity, many years ago, to attend a Master Pell Seminar, and got a great impression of him as technician and person.
Hope one day I will have the same chance; meanwhile, I will continue enjoying your site, and trying to learn.

Osu Soke,
Congratulations on the even newer version of the Ishin Ryu website…! Looking through the website I find it very easy to navigate my way through. Everything is clear and precise. The reports are fantastic and with the constant updates being added on a monthly basis will keep all those involved including family members up to-date with the goings-on in the clubs.
I look forward to seeing all the new photos and video’s from this years 13th Shochu Geiko. This years International event was spectacular, especially located within the new hall. There was a great turn-out and so nice to see so many fellow Martial Artist’s practicing what we love. I have made some new friends and cant wait to catch-up with them very soon…

Osu Soke,
Congratulations on the brand new website being launched. With regular reports being added all the time it makes a fantastic read and the opportunity to keep up to date with the training within the dojos.
I know there was a lot of effort in the making of this and I am sure there is lots more to come.
Really looking forward to seeing all the new updates being added in the future to make this website as big as it was before.
Congratulations again…!!!
Sensei Del Shannon – Honbu Doj

Osu Soke,
I hope you are well, good to see the website is now up and running.
Just wanted to say a big thank you. Ishin Ryu gave me a lot of morals and taught me a lot of things both on and off the matt. I met my fiancé at the Harrow dojo and now have two step sons and a beautiful daughter because of your club.
I have gained many friends for life especially Sensei Andy Tierney and we have trained, bled, sweated, slept together and on more than one occasion shared a beer.
The club just doesn’t affect people’s life’s on the matt, it affects them off the matt as well. Some good, some bad but that’s just life. I will be a part of Ishin Ryu for the rest of my life and I hope to return to training at some point and would not hesitate to call you and ask if I can train under you again. Give my love to Teresa and hope to have one of your bear hugs again soon…
Regards and Respect
