It has been a steady month for all the students at the Dereham club. Welcome to two new students in the infant class – this gives the other students new members to work with. The sign at Tesco’s is still looking brilliant and looks like it was only put up yesterday.
Well done to Ewan & Malachi for all their tremendous training last month. It is great to have more infants to train and it also gives the students the opportunity to experience new things in the lessons.
Malachi and Ewan loved doing the defence against wrist grab techniques, especially when they were allowed to shout, as high as they could.
It is amazing how they can show their confidence when they can do something they really love doing.
Congratulations to Benjamin & Theo who passed their yellow belt grading. They both did a brilliant grading right from the very start to the end of the hour session. They had to perform lots of throws, breakfalls, techniques and much more.
It was great to see them both deal with different situations during the grading. They really showed how much they have achieved since they started training. Their confidence and ability to act quickly was really great to watch.
Congratulations to Theo’s brother Malachi who was awarded Student of the Month. As you can see by the photo he is not wearing a gi. This is because we are waiting for our new gi’s with new logos to arrive. This will be very exciting for all the clubs and the organisation, as this is a major change to how the students will look.
Thank you everyone for your patience.
A very well deserved winner of Student of the Month, Daniel Lain. Daniel has been with me for a lot of years and always turns up for his lessons. He only has one more belt to go before he wants to move up to the teenager class. He has been a very dedicated and respectful student since he started; it was a pleasure to present him with the Student of the Month belt and certificate.
Yet again an awesome grading by the junior class, they really showed how good they are at Ju Jitsu. It was a very hot night so we had a large fan in the dojo and all the windows were open to try and get some cool air into the room.
They really worked hard from doing fitness tests, breakfalls, groundwork, throws, and self-defence techniques. They never moaned once about getting too hot, they just got stuck in with it until I finished the grading.
One student that really stood out for me was Jacob Brooke, who used to train at the Honbu dojo years ago. Jacob really has grown in confidence and knows make new friends. I have very proud of everything that he has achieved since he started at the Dereham club.
Well done to all the teenagers who are working hard towards their gradings at the end of the year. David is doing really well and travels every Monday to my club in Thetford to get in extra training. Well done to all of you for a great month, keep it up.
Well done to Freddie for receiving a progress medal for throwing techniques. This is always a very special moment for the student when they have achieved a full line in their progress cards. And the best part is that they receive a top quality medal that they can keep and take home to show off to their friends at school.
