After sixteen years of teaching, I have finally purchased a van. I have had it customised with our logos all over it. As an instructor it is a great way of advertising and for people to see it every day of the year. It is so much better than having a car, and it is the best way to make your organisation and clubs a success.

The infant class has still not changed in size for the last year. It is really strange with the size of Dereham we are unable to get children to take up Ju Jitsu. I am very proud of the four that I have in the class, as it takes a lot of commitment to turn up every week. Especially some weeks when one or two are ill, it makes it even harder. Ben will be moving up into the junior class next month, which will defiantly makes it harder as there will be an odd number in the class.

The only good thing about a small class is student’s get one to one training. They also get to learn a lot more Ju Jitsu and learn quicker than a bigger group. Well done to all of the students for a great grading, you all did yourselves proud.

The junior class is doing much better than the infant class. We have had a few new members lately, so it is a decent size. They are a great group to teach every week, and give it 100%. It was great seeing them learn a set of different hold down, locks and chokes for their recent grading. Learning up to 20 different techniques at speed looked really impressive, and it also gives them so much confidence in themselves. Well done to all the class for a brilliant grading, you all did the Dereham club proud.

Just to let everyone know this year’s British Championship will be on Sunday 22nd May. Due to the amount of students that will want to take part, there will be a cut-off date. There will be NO ENTRIES ALLOWED after this date. So please beware that once you receive the letter & entry form, please enter your child as soon as possible so you don’t lose out.

As last year’s summer camp was a sell-out, I can confirm that next year’s summer camp will be from MONDAY 8TH AUGUST TO FRIDAY 12TH AUGUST 2016.

Please visit our website www.ishinryu.com as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.

We also have the new calendar page where you can have a look at upcoming events so you can plan ahead. You can also leave feedback on each of the reports or comment on your son/daughters club and share them to your Facebook pages.

If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!

If you are on Facebook, please can you send me and Kevin Pell a friend request so if we need to pass on information quickly I can contact you, and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away.
