And so concludes another month in the world of Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu. As usual it has been fun packed and full throttle all the way.
This month our student of the Month awards for the infant class was awarded to Charlie Edwards. Charlie (or Charlie Bear as he tells me he is known!!) is a delight to teach in the dojo, ever ready with a willing smile and a keenness to learn, Charlie well deserves this month’s award.
The award given in the juniors this month was handed over to Tyler Old – More about Tyler later! Well done Tyler.
This month has been dominated by the Ishin Ryu National Championships held at Thetford Leisure centre. As usual the turnout was mammoth with hundreds of infants, juniors and teenagers to get through. The event was easily the best one yet with some great fighting spirit, some excellent throws and a huge display of etiquette and sportsmanship.
Additionally it was the great “Simon Fletchers” birthday – if you didn’t meet him on the day, or have already had the experience of knowing Simon then the make sure you seek him out next time he is in town – he is quite a character!!
So I promised to tell you more about Tyler Old… … … well Tyler, who is often seen laughing and jumping around in the dojo, put on his game face and won every fight! He was awesome –So what a month for Tyler, student of the month and he won Gold at the championships. Well done Tyler.

If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!
If you are on Facebook, please can you send me and Soke (Kevin Pell) a friend request so if we need to pass on information quickly I can contact you, and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away.
