Sensei Sheila and Sempai Lou getting festive

Sensei Sheila and Sempai Lou getting festive

The teenagers had prepared themselves (as always) for an emotional and gruelling grading. Honbu teenagers were joined by Sensei Del’s teenage students and together we had a full morning of strenuous gradings.

The gradings are always a culmination of the children’s hard work and dedication and it is always a pleasure for myself and sensei Del to see our students achieve great things

Sensei Del, happy so far.

The grading, which starts early in the morning always finishes with a group celebration (no matter the outcome – we are all in this together) at the local public house. The kids – although some of these students are monsters and do not look like kids at all- are encouraged to work hard together and celebrate and commiserate in the same way.

Sensei Del and I and The Boss (Soke) are immensely proud of what these guys achieve – well done all

December came with its usual festivities, games and too much chocolate!

As usual, we finished the year with much frivolity and the traditional “make a snowman” games with some very willing – and some less willing- parents.

Thank you for all your support in 2015 and we look forward to a fantastic 2016.

Please visit our website www.ishinryu.com as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.

We also have the new calendar page where you can have a look at upcoming events so you can plan ahead. You can also leave feedback on each of the reports or comment on your son/daughters club and share them to your Facebook pages.

If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!

If you are on Facebook, please can you send me and Kevin Pell a friend request so if we need to pass on information quickly I can contact you, and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away…

Many thanks,
Sheila Eglen Sensei
