I would like to start off this report by saying a big well done to Marley Adams from the infant class and Finley Rose from the junior class for becoming this May’s Student of the Month. I have to say that both students have been working very hard and put 100% in all the time.
Marley Adams is always willing to help other students in the class and when a new starter comes he is the first person to help them and show them what to do. Finley has been a star student – he was been working so hard on his breakfalls and they get better every lesson, I have to say that from when he first started he was very shy, but he has come out and has loads more confidence. Well done boys keep up the good work!
I would also like to say a big well done to everyone that competed in the Ishin Ryu National Championships. What a fantastic day for Ishin Ryu and also for the Bushey Tuesday class.
I have to say a massive congratulations to Scottie Turner and Amaya Lavana who competed and came so close to getting a gold. Keep training hard and we will get there for next year.
I also would like to say a big well done to Charlie Bignell who won sliver again, for the third year in a row! Charlie has been working so hard and had some tough fights on Sunday, but in true Ishin Ryu spirit kept fighting hard. Well done – we will get gold next year. My last big congratulations goes to Liam Roux who won gold and is the British Champion. For Liam this was his first year of competing and I have to say that he done everyone proud with some amazing throws and hold downs he had all eyes on him. Well done Liam on becoming the British Champion keep it up and I look forward to seeing you defend it next year.
The infant class has been working hard on their basic throws and hold downs that we have moved to learning something a little different, starting off this month with some basic defences from someone grabbing you and pulling you. This has been working on the children’s left and right fighting stances getting them use to being pulled around by someone and how to dill with a bully trying to grab or pull them, and I have to say that all the children have been doing a brilliant job at it working hard and trying different finishes that they have already learnt. We have also been playing loads of fitness games and grappling to keep the children working and keep the fitness levels at an all-time high.
The junior class have been learning something different this month with loads of throws and grappling. A massive and fun part of Ju Jitsu is when someone asks what happens if you get pushed up against a wall? So we started demonstrating some nice and simple defence from someone pinning you up to a wall or blocking you in to a wall. All I have to say is that the junior class have brilliant minds and I love that they want to learn something outside of the box or in this case in a corner of a wall.
With loads of cool moves from the floor and next to a wall we have been also working on are team games and fitness, getting the class working together and bonding. Most of the class go to different schools and Jessica Garvin lives in Milton Keynes 40 miles from Bushey, so it is nice to have a class that gets on and welcomes everyone to the Ishin Ryu Family.
Please remember your progress card and bring them to every lesson, if you have lost them or forget to bring them to a lesson let me know and I will make a note for next lesson to star you up or get you a new card. Remember if you get a line in your card you get a Ishin Ryu Ju Jitsu medal.
Next month we will be starting are work for the next grading’s so get ready everyone!
