I would like to say a big well done to Joe Blackstein in the infant class for becoming December’s student of the month for the infant class. Joe has been an amazing student and is a very happy child. He never messes about and always try’s his best. Also in the junior class I would like to say a big well done to Tim Vildanov in the first class and Indiana Brown in the second junior class.
Both have been working really hard, and done a brilliant job on their grading. Indiana being the only girl in the second junior class shows that girls can be as tough as the boys by getting stuck in with everything the boys do and even showing them how it’s done.
Well done to everyone that has been student of the month this year and I look forward to our first student of the month in 2016!!
With Christmas on its way, December is a very exciting time not just for the kids but the instructor’s as well. Playing loads of games and having a laugh with the parents this is the time to let our hair down… if you have any!
Before the last lesson of the year we had one more important event, and that was the teenager grading’s with all the guys and girls training hard for the past 6 months it was time to put them to the test. I have to say that they showed good Ishin Ryu spirt and didn’t stop only to take a drink of water. We had 2 students going for blue belt and 5 going for orange with sensei Del taking the yellow belts going to orange I took the green belts.
Me and sensei Del were so happy with the way everyone preformed and to finish off the grading we had them doing round of grappling with fitness before the next round. Sensei Del and myself are so proud of the teenager class they have been working so hard and each week they try their best. Well done and I look forward to working on your new syllabus in the New Year.
The infant and junior and teenager classes have being enjoying the last lessons of the year, with games and grappling everyone has been having loads of fun. Me and Sensei Del have been getting stuck in with the grappling and games becoming champions “sensei said”.
With the last lesson of the year being an all fun and games, we had some crazy games instore for the kids. Sensei Del started off the games with stuck in the mud and a scary game of Zombies, then I played a game of Sensei said and tag why Sensei Del got the last game ready.
Once sensei Del was ready we got the class in to three groups and had a team captain, me and sensei Del started to sing “do you want to build a snow man” from the famous kids film Frozen. The kids went crazy at the idea of dressing their team captain up as a snowman with just toilet paper and a carrot to use.
Once the snowmen were finished me and sensei Del judged to see what team made the best snowman, and they all looked amazing we couldn’t pick a winner.
Once the kids picked up all the toilet paper and had a quick drink we finished off the class with a game of bull dog with me and sensei Del the dogs all the kids had so much fun jumping on us trying to stop us from winning.
All in all a great final lesson of the year and to top it off with a line up we handed out Christmas cards and sweets to say thank you and a very Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Year.
On behalf of Soke Kevin Pell, Sensei Del Shannon, Sensei Tom Garvin and Sempai Jack O’Brien we would like to thank you all the continued support of the club and hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a happy New Year.
Section 3 – With Monday 14th December 2015 being the last lesson for 2weeks the start back date in the New Year will be Monday 4th January 2016.
In the New Year we will be starting with stand up grappling and using the strike pads getting everyone ready for next year’s children’s championships.
