I would like to start this month off by saying welcome to our newest members to the Bushey adult Ju Jitsu club. We have had six of our very own teenagers move up to the adult class training twice a week. I am very proud of everyone in the class they always put 100% into their training. They always make training no matter what.
With the grading only two months away all the adults have been working on their white belts perfecting their syllabus. At the beginning of each lesson we have been going over our basic rolls and how to pick up weapons. The class has been really enjoying it and I have seen a massive improvement in everyone, just from the breakfalls. As this shows the confidence in the student to throw them self’s on the floor or even roll on the floor.
Also this month the students have been learning and training in their first weapon which is the Kubaton. Everyone has got to grips with this and has found out how painful this can be in the right hands. Evangeline Phillips and Hemi Joshi have really been hot on the toes with this you can tell they have been working on this at home.
The class has been really looking forward to the grading in December and have been looking up on YouTube videos on Ju Jitsu and Ishin Ryu, and what they have found has been a big eye opener to what will be coming for their grading, and they are going to smash it in December as they all have the right mindset and the willing to keep going and never stop.
With the end of the month coming up it was time to put all of our training into action with the first run of the whole of the white belt without stopping, and I have to say that the class did amazing. They remembered all of the moves and didn’t show any weakness. I cannot wait for December to show off the Bushey Adults and to see them all in their white belts.
All that is left to say this month is a big thank you to the class for the support and the training they have put in. It is an honour to teach you and it is lovely to see so many faces in the adult class and long may it continue and grow to the likes of the Borehamwood, Honbu and Norfolk Dojos.
Next month we will be working on getting everything ready for the December grading with loads of throws and perfecting and polishing them moves
