Sempai Patrick Davis enjoying himself!

Sempai Patrick Davis enjoying himself!

At the beginning of the month there were no adult Ju Jitsu classes at the Bushey club due to the Bank holiday so adults were enjoying a nice long weekend. The following week Sempai Patrick Davis took some of the adults through some white belt syllabus. It was great to see Joshua King going over some revision. Nick Rowan who would like to attempt a double grade is working hard and attending twice a week to get maximum training. With only a couple of things left to get for his grading, he should be set for June.

The following week was a nice technical session and gave our adults some great one-to-one training with the senior grades. Daniel Davis worked with Sempai Tom Garvin on his blue belt. Jake Rider and Lee Swain will be attempting their White belt gradings earlier due to not being able to make gradings on 20th June. Jake has been traveling to Honbu every Wednesday with Sempai Tom Garvin to get extra tuition and is really making a step forward in the right direction.

The last session of the month we started the classes off with some gentle fitness to get the blood pumping around the body. It was great to see Sempai Lou come into the dojo for extra training. Sempai Lou who can’t perform overs and under (Leap frog) due to her leg brace, has a modified version that is just as exhausting, well done Sempai!

I kept a watchful eye on Nick Rowan and Jake Rider with their white belt, to see how they are performing; I think both have been giving maximum effort to their training and really show by their knowledge of the syllabus.

Sempai Tom Garvin went over his techniques with Sempai Patrick Davis at a good pace as Sempai Tom has his Shodan grading fast approaching next month.

Near the end of the lesson we finished off with some good grappling when Sempai Jack O’Brien felt a little squashed by Sempai Patrick Davis.

Please remember, if you wish to enter, all entries must be handed in by Saturday 9th May 2015.

We have the Adult gradings approaching in June so start checking your kit and make sure you have everything in advance; if you have any problems, come speak to me in class alternatively contact Soke at headquarters.

We also have Hanshi Dave Wilson’s Seminar at Honbu dojo on Saturday 9th June 2015. If you would like to attend or are unsure of anything, please contact Soke at headquarters or look at Soke’s Facebook page for more details…

I would like to wish Sempai Tom Garvin the best of luck with his Shodan grading next month on May 24th & 25th 2015, let’s hope your hard work has paid off… GOOD LUCK!
