I would like to start this month off by saying a big well done to Aran Kilich and Ryan Kett Morais for becoming this March’s student of the month. Both boys have been working really hard and have improved so much. They are a joy to teach and I look forward to seeing them every lesson. They never miss a class and if they do I am always the first to know why they can’t make it.
This month the kids have been celebrating passing there first grading of the year and I must say that all three classes have done an outstanding job. With all classes working on grappling from standing and kneeling, all the kids have been learning a lot over the past three months. The infant class have had some new students join us I would like to welcome you all to the club and I look forward to showing you loads of amazing Ju Jitsu.
With the grading taking place in March all the kids have been putting in 100% in the dojo with everything they do from bowing to making sure the dojo is clean and tidy before and after training. The grading with the infant and junior classes were the same in a way, having all the classes learning the basic movement’s on the ground how to get someone off you and how to make space and stop someone from moving. From looking and watching them train and see the difference in the grading was amazing to see.
With the grading on Friday 11th March all the kids were prospered for a hard lesson everyone brining water and making sure they went to the loo before starting the lesson. Having the infant class in first was lovely to see so many happy faces they see each lesson as fun and games and this one more fun because sensei likes to give everyone loads of fitness and run around. The class must of done 70 to 100 burpees and that didn’t touch the sides with rounds of grappling and breakfalls they kept going and shouted out for more.
I love the spirt the class has and they remember everything you tell them even your birthday every month. to finish off the infant class I sat them all down to go over the history of the club and asked the students what they know and it is a proud moment when everyone in the class puts their hands up to tell you the answer.
The junior classes picked up from where the infants left off with amazing attitude to everything that was asked from them. From start to finish they didn’t stop. The students showed me strangles from sitting on top of their partner also strangles from behind their partner and rounds of stand up and kneeling grappling in their colour belt groups .
I am so proud of all the kids and I think they have worked so hard on the presentation week I could not stop telling the parents how proud I was of their children and how well they did. It is an honour to teach such amazing students and to have a grate support from you the parents.
Please remember that with the Easter holidays and the bank holidays coming up the classes are still running as normal.
Next month we will be doing more stand-up grading teaching the students to take down their partners and also putting the take down or throw into a self-defence way as well.
Please visit our website www.ishinryu.com as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.
We also have the new calendar page where you can have a look at upcoming events so you can plan ahead. You can also leave feedback on each of the reports or comment on your son/daughters club and share them to your Facebook pages.
If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!
If you are on Facebook, please can you send me and Kevin Pell a friend request so if we need to pass on information quickly I can contact you, and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away.
