Teenager class with some new adult members

Teenager class with some new adult members

I would like to start this month of by saying a big well done to Nikhil Chadda in the infant class and Oscar Herold in the junior class for becoming February’s student of the month. Both of them have worked extremely hard with helping the lower belts with their training, and also working hard on their own training with some amazing moves. I can see that they have come a long way from last year. Keep up the good work.

The students in Friday’s Infant class have been working exceptionally hard as they prepare for their grading. They have begun every lesson by practising their breakfalls and learning some of the basic history of the club. Following this we have started to perfect their technique for the escaping from the guard which will be the key to progressing to their next belt. The hold-downs which they have been learning are slowly but surely getting better and soon I bet they will be two top students! Well done boys and keep up the good work.

The junior class have also been training in order to be ready for the upcoming grading. During the class we have been concentrating on their fitness, particularly whilst being thrown. This is due to the need for excellent stamina and mental strength to be able to keep getting back to your feet whilst being thrown repeatedly. Since the main techniques that will appear in the grading are the guard escapes and Reclining Leg Throw this will be an essential asset.

All of the instructors have been very impressed by the attitudes the students have been showing, especially William Ivory and Ryan Magromallis who have been training with great focus. We have also been taking part in some stand up grappling which the class has been enjoying a lot. Finally in the teenager class we have been working hard on ground work and picking on the basic ways to move around on the floor everyone has been working hard on this and putting it in to practice with loads of grappling and everyone is having loads of fun with that.
