Firstly I would like to say a huge congratulation to Sam Vango and Charlie Palmer who are our student of the month for May well done boys keep up the good work.
The infant class in Bushey Dojo have spent the last month in training for the national championships, and then competing in the championships. You all done really well and both me and Sempai Tom are really proud of you all. I am already looking forward for the next one.
The infants have been enjoying their lessons this month, with a mixture of techniques and games and fitness. We have been learning shoulder arm locks for the infants next grading. Alfie Fish has been training hard and is perfectly executing these techniques. When it is time for fitness the whole class is up for it. Press Up’s, Sit Up’s and Burpees, the class are working hard on improving their fitness, as it is never too early to get ready for the next gradings! The class has ended each week with lots of fitness tests and grappling and a few extra fitness tests to really make sure. I would like to say well done to Kara Tsangaris who has demonstrated some excellent Press Up’s. Well done and keep up the good work.
The junior class also competed excellently in the recent national championships. We have had loads of medals come out from the Bushey Dojo and it was great to see so many happy faces at the national championships. Every student that attended should be very proud of themselves and I’m sure will be excited for the next one.
The class have continued practising grappling at the start of every lesson and despite the championships being finished; the children have maintained their wonderful hard work.
Following these tough warm ups the children have been practising wrist locks. These are defences against attacks such as grabs of the lapel and punches. The students have all worked very hard to make sure these techniques are learnt perfectly as it is very likely they will appear in the next grading. I think the next grading is going to be a good one.
Lastly the teenager class, with their grading coming up fast and furious, the class are starting to get nervous, this will be the first grading for the teenagers as the class has only recently opened. No one is sure on what the grading will be like, but they know it’s going to be hard. In preparation for this the class have been learning their white belt syllabus and keeping themselves fit. We have also been practicing loads of stand-up grappling which the class enjoy. Both me and Sempai Tom would like to wish you all good luck; I know you will all be great.
