August is always a very strange month for all my classes as many of the students go away on their summer holidays. So for some they have had personal training with me and my instructors. As it has been a bit quiet they have had more time to work on their syllabus for their final grading’s for this year.
Next year’s summer camp will be from MONDAY 8TH AUGUST TO FRIDAY 12TH AUGUST
Congratulations to Freya Barnes, who was awarded for all her amazing work during August. Freya is a quiet student, but really works hard in the lessons. As you can see Freya is not wearing a uniform as we are waiting for the new design gi’s to arrive. Her confidence is starting to grow each week, with her techniques and fitness getting so much better since she first started.
Congratulations to Ewan Adams for all his hard work in the last four weeks. Ewan has been training with me for many years now, and is a very respectful and hardworking student. I look forward to seeing him advance to a senior level in time. Ewan is a model student who turns up every week, training hard and never moans about what he is asked to do.
The Brandon infant class has had a really good turn out during August, which is quite surprising as most of my clubs have been very quiet. I would like to welcome a new student to the class Bailey Messenger, Bailey is a very keen student with plenty of energy to use up during the lessons. He is a very confidence student and has made many friends already in the class.
The infants like all the other clubs are working on their techniques for the final grading’s at the end of the year. Of course I always mix it up with plenty of fitness and games so they don’t lose interest during the lessons. One thing that always makes me smile is when you ask the student to do techniques they don’t have much energy, but as soon as you do games their energy goes through the roof.
The junior class has been really quite during August, so there is not much to report about what they have been up to. Like most months they have been working on their fitness levels, syllabus techniques and self-defence techniques, so not much has changed in four weeks. All I would say is well done to the students that have turned up for the lessons during the month, and worked hard in the lessons. It is very difficult to motivate the students when it is a small class, but hopefully with 16 years of teaching children I know how to get the best out of them. Even if they don’t think they have the energy or mind set to do it.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a few things that might help all my students with their training.
ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOURSELF; NEVER SAY I CAN’T DO THAT?
EVERYONE CAN ACHIEVE IN WHATEVER THEY WANT TO DO OR BECOME.
THE ONLY THING THAT STOPS YOU FROM ACHIEVING IS YOURSELF.
THE SMALLEST ACHIEVEMENT IS A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT.
THE MORE YOU TRAIN THE MORE YOU WILL SUCCEED.
PLAYING ON THE XBOX STAYING AT HOME WILL NOT HELP YOU DEVELOP YOUR SKILLS IN WHATEVER ACTIVITY YOU DO.
TEN YEARS AGO I BROKE MY NECK IN A CAR CRASH AND WAS TOLD I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO DO MARTIAL ARTS AGAIN.
DID I GIVE IN; YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN MAKE YOURSELF A SUCCESS.
Well done to everyone for all their hard work last month. I would like to wish any of my students that are moving up to high school in September all the best. It will be a very exciting time for you all. As you will always hear from me and your parents, school is the best time in your life so enjoy every minute of it.
One final reminder to all my students, please can you visit our website as much as possible as I submit reports every month about the students training during the previous month. This is a great opportunity to see if you have been mentioned or appear in a photo.
We also have the new calendar page where you can have a look at upcoming events so you can plan ahead.
You can also leave feedback on each of the reports or comment on your son/daughters club and share them to your Facebook pages.
If you have any questions or you are unsure of anything, please catch me at the club where I will be happy to help!
If you are on Facebook, please can you send me a friend request so if I need to pass on some information quickly I can contact you , and when the reports go up I can share it to your Facebook page so you get it straight away.
