Proud infant class with new belts

I would like to start this month off by saying a big well done to Yotam Havkin in the infant class for becoming student of the month. Yotam has been working so hard and trying his best each lesson. Well done Yotam keep it up. In the junior class I would like to say a big well done to Kieran Blackman – he has been an amazing student helping out so many students and always on time to lesson. He is an amazing student to have in class.

The last student of the month is Zac Kaufman in the teenager class. Zac is a very bright and talented martial artist, he always puts 100% in to every lesson and it shows in class. Well done to everyone not just student of the months but to everyone keep up the outstanding work.

Wow – what a month it’s been, with all the children in Ishin Ryu grading. I would like to say well done to everyone in the Borehamwood Tuesday class. They all performed amazingly, and you all outdid yourselves.

The infant class have been training very hard this past month. The class were not prepared to take their foot off the gas and all the students have worked hard to keep up the pace, with a focus on the warm up and breakfalls. The main technique that has been practised this month was the Major Outer Reap throw; this is an excellent throw to take you opponent to the ground.

The children begun by going through the technique slowly and with each passing lesson they have all become accomplished at performing this technique with pace and control. This has naturally lead on to some restraining techniques such as side control and side four quarters.

As the grading day approached the infants started to become nervous. On the day they all performed amazingly and they all deserve a big OSU. Well done to you all – I am extremely proud of you all.

The junior class have been training hard every lesson, with several rounds of grappling to keep the pace up and not forget the skills recently learned. Following this, the children have been trying to master some basic throws from the adult syllabus.

The junior grading’s went just as well as the infants, with excellent demonstrations of spirit. The lower grades showed fantastic effort and all fully deserve their new belts.

I would like to say good luck to all the teenagers who are going to undertake their gradings next month – I’m sure you will all be great.

This month we have had the children’s gradings which have been outstanding. They have worked so hard and all the mums and dads are so proud of them getting their new belts. I look back and remember when I was a kid when I was standing in the line waiting nervously to see if I passed.

Next month is the build up to Christmas with the last 3 weeks getting everyone excited for the holiday time.

The club will be closed for 2 weeks over Christmas Holidays

Last lesson of the year will be: Tuesday 15th December 2015

First lesson back in the New Year: Tuesday 5th January 2016
