The infants practice some ground work

The infants practice some ground work

I would like to start off by saying a big well done to Kelsey Ryan in the infant class and to Charlie Barry both boys have been working really hard and try their hardest every lesson. I can’t fault them in their training and they look forward to each lesson and are both a joy to teach.

This month both classes have been working on front strangles and arm locks for their grading next month. We have also been going over how to move on the floor and some basic drills and movements to help with their ground game.  This has been really good for the students in both classes and builds up their strength and good body conditioning.

The infant class play loads of games to keep them motivated and learning with fun. I find it easy for the class that the more they run around and play games the more they learn and the stronger they get. By the end of most lessons they are so tired they don’t want to go home they want to stay on the mat and sleep, “parents you are welcome”.

Also in the class, we are starting to do more fitness why using the grappling as part of this. Using their partner to help them and use them to move around on the floor, the best workout is moving your own body millions of times.

The junior class has been doing the same as the infant class learning basic fitness moves with each other and working on movement on the ground and also from standing. We have a good group of students working on a Tuesday and all willing to learn and move forward in their Jiu Jitsu.

It has been a brilliant move for the students grappling with each other and having fitness competitions with me, and they win every time.

The teenager class has been working alongside the adults this month and this has worked really well having the adult students helping the teenagers in their training is rubbing off and they are acting like little mini-adults them self. They have all been getting ready as their grading will be held around the same time as the adults in December so all the students have been getting on with loads of syllabus.

Please make sure that all admin for the grading are handed in before the grading day as we need to know who will be grading and who won’t be grading this time round.

We are looking forward to our first grading’s of the year on Tuesday 8th November 2016 this will be a hard lesson and all the students will be worked hard and hopefully they will all come out with all new belts.
