I would like to start this month off by saying a big well done to Yotam Havkin in the infant class for becoming the student of the month. Yotam has been working so hard and trying his best each lesson. Well done Yotam keep it up. In the junior class, I would like to say a big well done to Kieran Blackman – he has been an amazing student helping out so many others and is always on time to the lesson. He is an amazing student to have in class.
Wow – what a month it’s been, with all the children in Ishin Ryu grading. I would like to say well done to every on in the Borehamwood Tuesday class. They all performed amazingly, and you all outdid yourselves.
The infant class have been training very hard this past month. The class were not prepared to take their foot off the gas and all the students have worked hard to keep up the pace, with a focus on the warm up and breakfalls. The main technique that has been practised this month was the Major Outer Reap throw; this is an excellent throw to take you opponent to the ground.
The children began by going through the technique slowly and with each passing lesson they have all become accomplished at performing this technique with pace and control. This has naturally lead on to some restraining techniques such as side control and side four quarters.
As the grading day approached the infants started to become nervous. On the day they all performed amazingly and they all deserve a big OSU. Well done to you all – I am extremely proud of you all.
The junior class has been training hard every lesson, with several rounds of grappling to keep the pace up and not forget the skills recently learned. Following this, the children have been trying to master some basic throws from the adult syllabus.
The junior gradings went just as well as the infants, with excellent demonstrations of spirit. The lower grades showed fantastic effort and all fully deserve their new belts.
I would like to say good luck to all the teenagers who are going to undertake their gradings next month – I’m sure you will all be great. With working alongside the adults they have picked up so much from them and have been looking more like mini-adults each week. I am so honoured and pleased to have them all as my students.
This month we have had the children’s gradings which have been outstanding they have worked so hard and all the mums and dads are so proud of them getting their new belts. I look back and remember when I was a kid when I was standing in the line waiting nervously to see if I passed.
Next month is the build up to Christmas with the last 3 weeks getting everyone excited for the holiday time.
The club will be closed for 2 weeks over Christmas Holidays
The last lesson of the year will be: Tuesday 20th December 2016
First lesson back in the New Year: Tuesday 10th January 2017
