I would like to start this month off by saying a big well done to all the adults that have been training this month. It has been really hot and tough but everyone has been putting 100% in to their training. It has been a very busy month for Ishin Ryu with loads going on from the senior grades going to Hereford for a very special event but I can’t say more than that. It was a very interesting weekend and for the senior grades and some lower grades it will be a weekend to remember.
With the summer holidays beginning the club has still been very busy with students training on their next coloured belts and also working on all round grappling from standing and keeling. I have to say everyone is really enjoying the ground work and the white belts have been putting in to practice their basic ground holds like shoulder hold and some arm locks.
With the class being very mixed with senior grades and lower grades everyone gets the most out of training. The senior grades mix in with the lower grades to help them with techniques and how some parts of Jiu Jitsu should be done. This is also good for the senior grades as they are learning to better their moves and also try out new moves or different ways that may or may not work on someone different.
Also this month saw the Borehamwood adults return to the home dojo on a Thursday as before the Thursday class was held at the Aldenham school sports centre after a long talk with Soke and the Yudansha we come up with moving the adults back to Borehamwood so Sensei Del can be there for the start of the adult class and keep everyone together. So far only 3 people have driven to Aldenham instead of Borehamwood so that’s not too bad.
To finish off the month the Borehamwood adults had the club social. So the last Thursday of every month we stop training at 9pm and get together and have some food and a drink to catch up with each other and talk about training and everything else in-between. Keeping the Ishin Ryu spirit going as we “train together so we eat and drink together”.
I can’t wait to see what happens next month as classes are still running as normal even with the summer holidays we will still be in the dojo.
Pease remember that if you can’t make training please contact Soke on the office number and let him know that you won’t be training.
With summer holidays in full swing we will be mixing up the training with some bag work grappling fizz and basic syllabus so watch this space don’t want to miss out.
If you are going away this summer if you could let myself, sensei Del and Soke know so we don’t put you down on the wrong list for slacking. Have a lovely summer holiday if you are going away if not then I will see you in the dojo ready to train hard to fight easy.
