Everyone looking very smart!

Everyone looking very smart!

October has brought a new student to the Borehamwood Jiu Jitsu club so I would like to welcome Mustafa Darvesh to the infant class. Mustafa is friends with other students in the class and has seemed to settle in really well. I look forward to updating you on Mustafa’s progress as time goes…

With a new month, there is also a new student of the month — October was awarded to Ruby Ghioc in the infant class and Tharan Nimalraj in the junior class.  Ruby is a good girl and is not afraid to grapple the boys which can be sometimes daunting when boys tend to be stronger. Tharan is a very respectful young man, polite and tries hard with the tasks that are given to him.

Congratulations to the students of the month, October 2016

With gradings next month, the main emphasis is to practice all the techniques needed for that grading. The students did have a break from school during the month which usually results in the children going away with their parents which of course has an impact on the children attending Jiu Jutsu. This is not too bad as we have been constantly rehearsing what is needed to get ready…

Both in the infant class and the junior class we worked on some handshake techniques. The infant students would perform different finishes than the junior students. This is mainly due to the learning ability of the child. As they get older and move into the junior class they have more self-control. We have been learning shoulder hold to the mount and the school-yard-bully technique which they really enjoy.

I would like to mention a young man this month who has picked his game up and shines out in the class (Gabriel Gold) Gabriel has impressed me immensely; his Ishin Ryu spirit, determination, and his enthusiasm when performing techniques is brilliant and exactly what we want. This is brushing off on other students and I’m starting to see the same results from within the class. Well-done Gabriel – really impressed, keep it up!
