A big well done to Leila Hoch in the infant class for becoming April student of the month Leila has been working really hard and doesn’t miss a lesson. She has been working with everyone in the class and has made loads of friends in the class. In the junior class I would like to say a big well done to Callum Randle who is one of my top students in the class.
Callum always asks to be used as helper and works with the lower belts and helps so many students in the class. He also has been working so hard on his grappling and fitness and has become a fantastic martial artist.
This month all three classes have been building up and preparing them self’s ready for the British championships in May. With loads of stand up grappling and working on quick take downs all the kids are having so much fun throwing each other around. The infant class have been working more on different holds and ways to keep their partner on the floor without them getting up.
This has been loads of fun for the kids challenging them to get up once being held down. Making the kids learn not to give up but work hard and put in 100% in to training. I would like to say a big well done to Leo and Charlie as they have been working so hard and getting some amazing throws and hold downs. The one student in the class that will be going for gold this year at the championships is Alejandro Rodriguez, Alejandro got a bronze medal last year at the championships and is going for gold this year.
The junior and teenager classes have being doing the same at the beginning of each lesson, after a warm up and fitness we have been working on stand up grappling to the ground and then working on strangles and arm locks. With so many students entering the championships it is outstanding to see so many of them working so hard in each lesson. With the high belts working on dropping throws some of the lower belts have been working on shoulder throws and also leg sweeps. One student that has been working hard is Miller Franklin, he has been an outstanding student and has one fast dropping throw, he is only a yellow black belt but he has been working on this throw for ages.
The teenagers have been on the right path this month with loads of syllabus training and working on their next colour belts it has been looking really good everyone has been putting in 100% in to training. The yellow belts have been working on bottle attacks and also braking back strangles. The purple belts going to brown have been working on escapes from under the arms and over the arms from behind. To finish off each lesson the whole class mix in to do some grappling and also fitness working in with each other this is a brilliant way to train with someone different but also make new friends in the class and learn from each other.
Lastly I would like to welcome some new students to the infant class Talia Cohan, Zaynab Alam Jamie Bragg and Gemima Eaton. It is lovely to have you all in the class and you have been amazing to teach I look forward to working with you towards your first grading.
