This month as been an awesome month for the Borehamwood dojo. During the month we have had the national championships. The students have been building up to this for months and finally the day had come to show everyone what they are made of. In class we had been going over and over our grappling work to try and increase the children’s skills. They have all been working hard for this and I am really proud to say that the Saturday class performed extremely well and walked away with loads of medals. I would like to say well done to
- Harrison Travers who won silver!
- Zach Cohen who won silver!
- Uri First Who won gold and is now national champion
- Justus Badu Who won gold and is now national champion
- Nabbrisa Badu Who won Bronze
- Leo Kaufman Who won gold and is now national champion
And I would like to say a massive well done to those who competed and didn’t come away with a medal, it takes guts just to get up there and take part. So well done to all.
- Alfie Travers
- Gemma Levitan
- Oliva Buckner
- Alexander Fullum

So this month we the infants have been working towards the championships. They have been going over ground holds and throws. Alex Rees has been training extremely hard for this. Every lesson he has been going over hip throws and hold downs. I can’t wait to see you compete at the end of the month! The juniors have also been training for the championships. They have been focusing on their chokes and throws. This is so they can take their opponent down quickly and get them to submit quickly. I think they are doing really well and everyone which is competing will do fantastic. Teenagers have been preparing for their next gradings. Not only are they learning their syllabus they are practicing fitness and their throws, which are coming along really well. The teenager’s class has grown massively in the last two months and they have been training extremely hard and everyone is looking forward to their first grading.
