The infant class in Borehamwood have spent the last month in very high spirits as they are looking forward to the National championships. I would like to say good luck to everyone who is taking part in the competition. I’m extremely proud of all of you, and I know we are going to clean up again this year.

The students have worked very well together and it has been noticed that there is a real team ethic within the class. This month has been spent on concentrating on the throws and chokes. This is an excellent technique used to control an opponent after they have attacked from a variety of ways.

The class have also been working hard on improving their fitness, as it is never too early to get ready for the next gradings! The class has ended each week with lots of fitness tests and grappling and a few extra fitness tests to really make sure. Everyone is looking good for the competition.

The teenagers have been training hard for their fast approaching grading in June. Everyone is starting to get nervous and anxious for the day to come. In preparation we have been practicing syllabus. The white belts who have recently joined us have been itching to try and go for their grading! They have no idea what to expect! We have also been doing some fun exercises, such as fireman’s carries and piggy back races. The class have enjoyed this, it give them a break from the syllabus. Good luck to everyone who is grading I know you will be excellent.

Next month we are going to be concentrating on shoulder arm locks in preparation for the up and coming gradings. Next thing we know they will be here.

I would just like to remind everyone that the national championships will be taking place on 17th May so if you want to enter make sure you hand all the relevant information before the 9th May. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone good luck to everyone taking part.
