Firstly I would just like to say a big well done to Benjamin Blaiberg and Jada Cousins for their hard work this month. Because of that they were awarded the student of the month award. Well done to you both
The infant class in Borehamwood have spent the last month in very high spirits after their successes at the gradings – well done to everyone who took. You were all amazing, and I am extremely proud of all of you.
The students have worked very well together and it has been noticed there is a real team ethic within the class. This month we have been concentrating on the shoulder arm lock. This is an excellent technique used to control an opponent after they have attacked from a variety of ways, particularly a straight punch.
The class have also been working hard on improving their fitness, as it is never too early to get ready for the next gradings! The class has ended each week with lots of fitness tests and grappling and a few extra fitness tests to really make sure.
The Junior class also performed well in the recent gradings. Every student that attended should be very proud of themselves and I’m sure will be looking forward to the next one. Following a tough warm ups, the children have been practising wrist locks. These are defences against attacks such as grabs of the lapel and punches. The students have all worked hard to make sure these techniques are perfect as it is very likely they will appear in the next grading.
The teenagers have been training hard, but also having fun as we are close to the Christmas break. We have been taking part in team games and loads of rounds of grappling. It’s great to see the whole class enjoying their lessons. I would also like to say well done to everyone who took part in the recent gradings you were all amazing and I’m happy to say you all passed.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and I can’t wait to see you all back in the New Year ready to lean again.
